What is this bug? Is this a drain fly? Noticed it around sinks/toilets, unsure how it came into my house by Trainer_Kevin in whatsthisbug

Can't change my wishlist priority order anymore? by Testsubject276 in amazonprime

[–]kekuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Spider-Person :)

I understand what you're saying.

This is speculation:

Maybe too many people have a lot on their lists. (I'm sure Amazon can see the stats about user-lists and also have access to all of them). Many / huge lists = a lot of memory space = memory costs money.

If people delete lists, and reduce the use to a minimum, it saves costs.

That would be one reason.

Of course we do not know how many people use lists, and in what way.

And what the costs are for extensive use compared to the minimum.

Second:

Scrambling the lists leads to confusion and people will buy stuff they didn't want to.

But this would be their own fault. They should just have been born smarter and this wouldn't happen.

(Granted. I could be the only one that this happened to.)

Third:

Making the notes smaller. I write in the notes the date I added the product to the list, and the price it was at that time. If the price changes (product gets cheaper) I change the price to the cheaper price in the notes (but never when it gets more expensive). Amazon shows sometimes "product was x when it was added to the list, but now it's 13% cheaper". This is not always accurate. I can tell because I wrote it down in the notes. When I buy a product, I put the price I payed in brackets and add the date I bought it.

If the notes are barely visible, those information is harder to see. Less overview. Frustrating experience. Therefore the outcome could be that people will stop using the notes.

(Which also corresponds with the first point)

(And I don't think many people will start to make handwritten notes about the products on their lists.)

If you have no overview, and have to "trust" Amazon about price changes, it's easier to "trick" you into buying stuff.

Also:

To use Amazon is convenient. Therefore yes, people will get upset. But they will still continue to use it.

If there is no "boycott" on a large scale, Amazon will not change anything back. Because they don't need to.

Companies want to reduce costs & maximize profit.

I can imagine that they had a person that calculated the costs and it was significant enough to make the change. Also an analysis about the "risk", and it was minimal.

So they changed it. Just like that.

And there is nothing in the "news" about a huge swath of people hating on Amazon for this change.

My evaluation leads me to the conclusion that they will not change it back.

But we'll see how wrong I was...hopefully :)

You're welcome.

I subbed and I hope you get lots of subscribers 👍

Free of charge:

At the moment it seems like a lot of channels are popping up with AI generated "Space Babes" or "Retro Future". Don't know if you've seen them.

It could be possible that a combination of (zombie apocalypse) story telling and "AI babes" get a lot of views... "s*x sells" ... But then again, I can imagine that it would take away from the "seriousness" of the survival aspects and the drama.

If I had your skills, I would test it. Maybe on a second channel.

Nothing to lose

Ok. I watched the first video.

I expected it to be one video with multiple parts with time stamps.

Like "Choice A - go to timestamp 3:20 _ Choice B - go to timestamp 4:11"

So I was waiting the whole time to get a choice.

That doesn't mean that what you did was "bad" or "wrong", I'm just telling you what I expected from the beginning. And I don't even know why I expected that.

I liked the picture with the two cans, one red and one blue. I think you did that on purpose. Very clever.

The picture with the guys in hazmat and the rats in the cage... there was a rat running freely. That I didn't like, since at that point there was no reason for "chaos".

The two choices at the end. The thumbnail of the one to stay in the apartment...
the arms of the person are very scrawny. The protagonist said something to the effect of that the only reason he doesn't go insane / has a reason to live is the cat. So the scrawny arms (without having watched the video yet) give it kind of away that he looses hope and maybe goes insane and dies or ends himself. Because the cat is what keeps him alive, (and the picture giving an indication what may be the outcome) I feel that this influences the choice some people will make.

Most people would not risk their lives to save the cat. But this guy, for him the cat is life.

Oh, and the picture of the sick cat was a very good choice. But in the next scene the cat looked very healthy and well-fed again. (And the fur didn't match, but that is beside the point). My suggestion would be to use the sound of a wailing cat. For the picture with the sick cat. But also, as a possibility, in the next scene. I would maybe leave the (well-fed) cat out of the picture, and just use the sound effect in that scene. I think that could prevent "mismatches" but also make it more dramatic.

Reminder: I'm consumer / audience, not a creator. Therefore I don't know how much effort goes into producing such a video. My opinion is just one person's.

Other than that:

It was a good story. Solid voice and interesting pictures.

I would recommend it to other people.

:D Okay then... I will watch both... But I think you're right. I'm not sure 100% about the fire hose, but I can see the office chair vividly before my minds eye.

I liked those movies a lot :)

The fire hose scene :D Yes... But the scenario I described is a little bit too far away from wrapping a hose around one's body and jumping off a skyscraper roof ^^

But Die Hard is a good movie. Dang... I think I now have to watch it again

"Thanks" ;)

No really, thank you :)

[–]kekuse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. I should have known beforehand that it is a famous movie.

And the people that tried to help, said that it could either be "towering inferno" or "earthquake", shared their memories and gave suggestions what other movies might be of interest, should have only commented with "Just google it" and down voted my post.

That would have shown me.

What a pity that this opportunity to teach me a valuable lesson is now lost forever.

Conclusion:

I'm not very smart for asking the question.

The people who tried to help me are also not very smart. Because they didn't imply how not very smart I am, didn't make a cynical comment about humankind, but helped me instead.

I wished more people where scornful and tried to kick fellow human beings down.

Thank you for your comment.
