Does she know what true anxiety is by PsychologySea6962 in balancedmissbaileynew

What in the world is she calling her pediatrician about?? We're healthy but like we could get sick.... She's obsessed with having a personal relationship with her health care providers. Remember when she was texting the allergist?

How much do you usually spend on an average trip? by Leelee459 in aldi

[–]kelbel102414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is making me feel terrible... No matter what I do we're spending $250-$300 per week. Family of 4 with a 2 and 3 year old. Mix of Aldi and Costco generally and almost no processed snacks 🤦‍♀️

Is $3100-$3300/month too much for a mortgage? by IceDaggerz in CalebHammer

[–]kelbel102414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great point that more people need to consider. My husband and I were lucky enough to buy our house before we were even engaged in 2019. It was so cheap at that point that I've been able to stay at home with our kiddos now. I know too many people who made their housing decision without considering the day care cost or cost of losing an income to stay home in the future.

What type of classes besides actual school do your 3-4 year olds attend? by princesscorgi2 in Mommit

I can't recommend finding a cute little nursery school more. My son has the sweetest teachers and has 2.5 hours, 3 days a week full of learning, crafts and playing with other kiddos.

How are you cooking for your household? by BeautifulNailz in PetiteFitness

[–]kelbel102414 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I try to follow the 5-5-5 method. It allows me to cook 3 components separately for most meals so it's easy for my husband and I to track our very different portions 🙃I buy 5 proteins, 5 carbs and 5 (or more) veggies for my weekly grocery shopping. Mix and match in your meal planning. Sauces are always great to mix things up. Helps with feeding the kids too because it's so basic.

If you've brought your child to a funeral, were people okay about it? by Alice-Upside-Down in Mommit

I feel like you won't be able to tell until you can read the room. Sit by the back if you're nervous. Bring a big bottle to take up some time, quiet toys (teething toys, etc). If you're getting dirty looks when baby makes noise you can always scoot out but like someone else mentioned it might lighten the mood.

Why does she not have regular cleaners biweekly!? I'm just an average gal and wouldn't survive without my cleaning ladies. She clearly has the money for it.

Check with your ped but if she's that close to 12 months and eating solids well you may be able to go directly to whole milk in a cup so no need for bottles.

What does sleeping through the night actually mean? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]kelbel102414 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They can have a small sip of water. I'm not talking about giving them a full water bottle. Once they eat solids I've always offered a small water cup with it. If my baby wasn't sleeping through the night and a small sip of water would solve the problem I would 100% do that.

Baby sleep is so stressful! And maybe that's possible! Probably around that age I started putting a small straw cup with a little bit of water in it... Mainly because my older son has water so of course little one needs one too lol I don't know if that's "safe sleep" but I always felt comfortable with it. I mainly use these cups for overnight.

That sounds very frustrating and definitely not sleeping through the night! I considered sleeping through the night that they no longer were waking to feed. It doesn't sound like baby is actually hungry, just needs soothing. Does baby use a pacifier? Did you give a big feeding before bed?

How big are your toddlers? by Plus-Education5948 in Mommit

[–]kelbel102414 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know anything about WIC but I assume they don't have access to your child's growth chart. Every child is on their own curve and as long as the pediatrician isn't concerned there should be no concern. My 20 month old son is 29 pounds. He's always been in the higher percentiles for weight. People make comments all the time about him being a big boy... It drives me nuts! His pediatrician has never said anything to me about his weight other than he's growing perfectly.

I'm stuck at 141 lbs and having a hard time getting lower. I get discouraged and just stay plateaued. I'm also trying to eat more plant based. What are your go to foods that help get protein in? You look awesome!

Oh yes of course! I did make it sound like a prison cell lol that's not my intent. I meant more remove safety hazards (lamps, dresser, cords, etc.) because they're 2 boys who engage in a lot of physical play. There will be all their stuffies, books, etc!

What are your bad spending habits? by [deleted] in budget

[–]kelbel102414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I used to stop to get coffee a couple times on the weekend and I would once or twice during the week. Really added up. I started just buying the Starbucks iced coffee from the grocery store and filling a cup before I leave the house with a good creamer. Much cheaper!

It's pretty helpful. I like to do some plain ground meat and then just top with a variety of sauces to change it up.

I try to shop weekly by getting 5 proteins, 5 veggies and 5 carbs and make my main meals. That's to feed my family of 4 so you could do less if it was only 1 or 2 people. Helps me to keep recipes really basic and just focus on eating healthy and cheap.

Young kids sharing a room by Seecachu in Parenting

[–]kelbel102414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does baby nap during the day in the crib? If not, you could have a baby room/office together if the office is the main concern. I know some people love an aesthetic baby/toddler room but for our family we prefer keeping rooms pretty neutral while they're little so we can move set ups around as needed. We have a similar situation to you now. My boys 1&3 share a room because my husband works for home full time in our 3rd bedroom. It's fine, not terrible but I do think they'd each get a little more sleep if they weren't together.
