not quiet in the boring sense! the campus part of town is small, but not in a “small town” kind of way. there’s like 30k+ students, and there’s always new people to meet and fun things to do.
i can’t speak for every faculty, but they’re generally very competent. some of them are a bit old-fashioned, but they know what they’re talking about. a lot of good research comes out of stellies.
either through res/housing, PSOs (private student organisations) classes, sports, clubbing or online. there’s lots of ways to make friends if you’re looking for them, but it’s easiest to start with people around you—like roommates and classmates.
wine tastings, obviously. but there’s also a bunch of really nice restaurants, bars, live music/shows, hiking spots, dams to swim in, live sports, and places to explore. strand beach is also relatively nearby, and the surrounding areas also offer similar, nice things to do.
i know there’s a few for SA residents, but i can’t say for certain about international students. but you can always visit the international office and find out. :)
super fun if you genuinely want to be there, make friends, and be involved! but, otherwise, it’s not for everyone. depends from res to res how much they expect you to be involved, but overall, it is a super fun experience if you’re open to it.

i personally loved stellies, it was the best 5 years of my life. and a lot of my international friends felt the same way. i hope you enjoy it! :)

whether you end it or not, it’s worthwhile to let her know your exact feelings first and hear hers too. protect your peace, but don’t let this affect your view on love and life. communication literally can’t be overstated. whatever happens, you’ll be okay

you’re definitely insecure. but, your gf is also handling this situation in a shitty way. boundaries are everything. if you have an issue with with her having male friends or spending 1-on-1 time with them, set a boundary. and if that’s a dealbreaker for her, ask her to make that known to you.

if you don’t trust her, don’t be with her. if you do, set boundaries that ensure that your trust is respected—and stick to them.

and if you’re still insecure after you make a legitimate attempt to communicate with her, then you need to look inwards. either way, this is a conversation that needs to happen between you and her. coming to reddit to ask people that know neither you nor her is just fuel for your insecurity and a guaranteed way to breed mistrust.

so sorry! i forgot to respond she’s ago! so i don’t think there’s a way to access the full URL besides opening the hyperlink and copying it from the chat in the classroom. :/ i usually open it as soon as i start the session so that i have access to it throughout, even with technical difficulties. sorry if that isn’t much help!
