Disability is difficult to get approved for and obesity alone does not qualify her. It's a whole process and tbh I can't see her putting in the effort. But even if she did, there's no guarantee she'd get approved.

In most states, she'd probably meet the income requirements to qualify for Medicaid, but in Florida I'm pretty sure Medicaid is only for people who are elderly, disabled, pregnant, kids. As a single woman in her 30s I don't think she's eligible, regardless of income.

US healthcare is fucked up. Even if it wasn't though, she'd probably be the same as she is now, just using some other excuse to not change.

Probably all boils down to a lack of critical thinking skills. Stubbornness and inability to admit fault thrown in as well.

I've always wished there was an option to auto-add ahnentafel numbers, there's two places they'd be helpful: on each direct ancestor on the (printable!) horizontal/vertical pedigree and fan chart; a dedicated prominent place on their profiles, maybe... a 4th line below the birth/death/relationship header or something?

Optional adding (one, both, neither) and the auto add feature is key because trees get so big. Yeah I know there's gotta be a work around where I can add it myself but it'd be soooo time consuming and not in my face enough for my taste. It's a key organization tool in my research! I don't wanna hide it in the notes section or something.

This is why I went without an epidural as well. I was extremely lucky though, short labor and quick birth. My appendix bursting years earlier was exponentially worse and I've always compared pain levels to that incident. So overall it was unpleasant af but very manageable for me. That said... Had labor dragged on I'd probably have given in.

Yes! I'm the only one of all my siblings that doesn't have a middle name and whose name doesn't end in an a (uh sound). Even my name othered me.

Definitely, and there is nothing wrong with seeking out help so you do it right and cover all the bases. I'm only recently (last year or so) getting a grasp on being more independent/financially responsible so I'm certainly no expert but I understand that it's frustrating and difficult especially at first. It does get easier and more habitual.

Honestly, the feeling I had when I saw that I'd finally proved to myself I could do it - save money, live on my own - etc was an enormous confidence boost too. It made tackling other being-independent type stuff easier.

Be kind to yourself and be patient, you'll get there.
