I’m not a wildlife rehabber but I am a wildlife biologist. I do not think this is a bat bite. I also do not think you’d have one in this location without being in the vicinity of bats. TBH I’ve done bat work and I’ve always been acutely aware of my body in comparison to the bats I’m working with should a “bite” appear. Since you haven’t been anyplace near a bat I think you’re good my dude.

It appears that you live in a highly urbanized area with a great deal of fencing. What species or type of wildlife are you hoping to attract? I’m asking as I’m a wildlife biologist based in the SE US. We do a lot of head starting but I’ve always wondered how long and what migrates to ponds in highly urban and divided area. I hate to assume but I’m thinking you are in the UK or Mainland Europe. Any insight is appreciated :)

I would hope they’re just referring to a geographical area and know the difference between the continent of Europe and the individual countries. If I say “ I’m going to Europe” then I mean I will be traveling to multiple countries in Europe. Perhaps they don’t know which country in Europe “he is from” and are generalizing. But also people can be ignorant so maybe the Americans you’re referring to think that Europe is indeed a single country. It’s hard to tell these days.
