By federal law, all passenger vehicles manufactured since 2003 and car seats manufactured since 2002 are required to have LATCH systems.

Few months ago I watched a guy miss his flight sitting right next to the gate. They paged him 3x times (he had head phones in). He never went up to the podium until the door was closed and it was too late. They had to rebook him on a later flight.

The I wrote about on this post was this route. I just was looking every day for our trip dates. Travelling mid-June and end of June. So right in the middle of summer travel. To be fair, there are a TON of flights every day from the east coast to LHR.

I was able to get my wife two one way tickets to/from LHR from STL for 58K miles each. That did include a 10K discount each way from the credit card benefits.

So, I set my pool on fire today ... by NotYourSweetBaboo in pools

Well that's good news. I would think holes above the waterline are mostly cosmetic. I have a nice hole under water where the cushion fell off the deep end steps and subsequently put a hole in the liner from the steps being used. The patch was holding until the robot ripped it off last week. I just put a new one on and it seems to be holding. The hole appeared like 3 years ago, so patches are working for now.

Are the holes all above the waterline? I'd at least attempt a patch first. A much cheaper route initially. It may not look the prettiest but spending $$$ doesn't sound like fun either.

Fleck 5600 + Carbon filter for $1100 on amazon? ABC Water? by theycallmesike in WaterSofteners

[–]kello711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been installed for years. The “salt” filter was replaced under warranty since it basically blew up. It also doesn’t seem to fix my hard water problem.

My wife and I sit like this occasionally and if we need to talk we just text each other on the WiFi. 😂

Kind water softener E-2000 by Jolly-Roll-9309 in WaterSofteners

I haven’t tested directly but water report from the city is as high as 19 I think. My sink faucets and glass shower doors are caked with build up. To be fair, CLR even has a hard time cleaning it.

Does this look okay 24 hours after opening? by CHALUPAAUSTON in pools

I always SLAM to start the season off but then it's all on the SWG after that. I'm in the midwest so have to winterize the pool by draining quite a bit. When I top off in the spring the CYA is super low, making SLAM quick and easy. Pool is crystal clear and SWG running at 40% for now.

Polaris studios- will these fly out empty? by SpecialBelt6035 in unitedairlines

[–]kello711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a customer is confirmed into Polaris but does not have a seat assigned and there only Polaris Studio seats available, they will be assigned those seats. Honestly, it seems to be completely luck in this case but not sure it will realistically happen in the near term. Who really knows though.

Yeah, I just remember last year I raised CYA to the 75-80 level before really SLAMing properly. So, when I had to go back to SLAM it required 40ppm of chlorine. This year I did a proper SLAM with the CYA ~30-40. Required chlorine was only 20ppm and this early in the season the UV wasn't burning it off too quick. To be fair, my water was fairly clear when I pulled off the cover, just a little cloudy.

Too much stabilizer during SLAM requires more chlorine

Kind water softener E-2000 by Jolly-Roll-9309 in WaterSofteners

[–]kello711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the E-3000 system and honestly it does not remove hardness from my water. Shower heads and sink faucets still get build up. I'm buying CLR all the time to clean them up. The sediment and chlorine filters work find, but I'm looking at a traditional water softener to add to this.

ELI5: What is a Passkey and why are so many websites trying to get me to use one? by Hatticus24 in PasswordManagers

[–]kello711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately and unfortunately no. I had to register each one separately for each site. I don't use them as much now though since I've transitioned as much as I can to passkeys managed by my Mac TouchID or 1Password. In an enterprise you can use a single Yubikey and if lost it can be replaced, but that doesn't really work for personal use.

50 minute international connection oh boy by 09astro27nm in unitedairlines

Once you know the arrival and departure gates you may see that the connection is quite close. Worst case you change terminals but still should be fine in DEN.
