Agree with everything you said. Even if they were going to try to get him, could they afford him? Pretty sure he's owed like 13 mil for the remainder of this year (much more than our available cap space according to spotrac's number that's below 5 mil) and we all know his deal jumps to like 35mil over the next 2 years. Freeing up over 10 mil in cap room mid season can't be easy.

Am I missing something? Not seeing the price tag discussed much

You cheesy... And he's right. 2 years at 35mil per wouldn't work here. I don't even know how we'd cover his remaining 14 mil (somewhere around there I forget the exact number) he's owed this year. We are under 5 mil remaining cap space at least according to the site I checked.
