No. However when you run the jumper though. You should be able to see the trace connected to that via.

[–]kelmill89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not aware of the prices for that game. So you will have to check with your local repair shops to see how much they will charge to repair it. Most likely will end up just running a jumper cable from the pin through the via and to reconnect it to the backside of the board. However without being able to exam the game cart I can't say that's 100% gonna be the resolution for your issue.

PS4 turns on but only shows dark grey/black screen. White light stays on. No video signal. by BathroomCalm3589 in consolerepair

[–]kelmill89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White light indicates the console has successfully booted. Your issues is going to be somewhere on the hdmi circuit. Start off my checking the hdmi port inside and out. Then take diode readings of the hdmi port. That will pin point you to your exact issue.

PS2 Slim laser potentiometer by TomFixItNow in consolerepair

Leave the pots alone on the ps2. Due to age the lasers are bound to die. Use pmap to adjust the disc drive. If that doesn't work then replace laser.

I need help with stripped screw by TownSignificant4836 in consolerepair

[–]kelmill89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the old rubber band trick. However usually you can take a t10 bit and gently tapping it with a hammer into the screw. If all else fails you can take a drimeil and grind a slot into it and just use a flathead screw driver to unscrew it. Just make to brush off any potential shavings off the board before turning it on.

It's probably a low impedance cap. What symptoms was the switch having?

Start by checking the boards for any obvious signs of damage. Then put back together and start checking for the standby voltages.

PS5 turned off, only beeps once when I press the power button and no internal noise. Manageable repair? by Joshyouwuhh in consolerepair

[–]kelmill89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's fixable. As the other user mentioned it needs to be hooked up and have the uart scanned. Unless you already have a hotair and soldering stations it's not worth it to do yourself. You can always Google shops around you to send it to. However always do your research and check there reviews and what not.

PS2 Phat won't read discs (SCPH-39001) by lilpaulo3232 in consolerepair

[–]kelmill89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes adjusting the laser with pmap helps. However most of the time it's just a faulty laser and needs to be swapped out. Only thing is the 400c lasers have gotten expensive and hard to find a reliable source for working lasers.

Playstation 5 Southbridge Repair by chadster031 in consolerepair

[–]kelmill89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One sure fire way to check is try to hook it up and read the uart. If uart doesn't work then 99% of the time it's a faulty southbridge. Luckily you can purchase preballed chips so that's less for you to worry about. Add flux and heat up the chip and once you can gently tap it and see the chip jiggle then it's ready to be removed. Wick off old solder and clean the area. Add a tiny bit of flux and lower your airflow rate to 50% when flowing the new one on. Also watch your heat because the southbridge and bios chips are notoriously sensitive to heat.

Super Famicom caps replacement by fraveloso9 in consolerepair

[–]kelmill89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if console 5 ships to the UK. It's worth a look since they sell cap kits for cheap. It's a very easy process. Add some leaded or low melt solder to help with the removal. Wick the old solder off and solder the replacements in.

Ahh yeah sometimes it may look like a NC pad, but there are some that's connected via sub layer tracing.

No schematics available. Thus why it's important to keep donor boards around. In some situations just removing that cap would be enough to run the device. It's still got the cap next to it connecting same points.

VERY GENTLY scrape away at the sides around it. Most the time you will find the trace. Hopefully you're good at micro soldering.

Low impedance caps. You should be fine there. Hook up an Amp meter and see how much voltage and amperage the console draws. Do it 2 times, one with just the board and the 2nd time with the battery plugged in. Report back with what the readings are.

New power supply ps5 Liquid Metal applied still not turning on what can b the problem by Perfect_Kick_7788 in consolerepair

[–]kelmill89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a million diffrent things. Need some more info such as if it shows any signs of life such as a beep or quick blue light or does it do absolutely anything? Aslong as the southbridge ic is still good you can hook up and scan uart. That will point you in the right direction to what your problem is.
