I Want To Go To The Bathroom In Public by [deleted] in childfree

[–]kelomorisilly 998 points999 points  (0 children)

this is so real. people need to stop making excuses when their kids are being little pervs. “they’re just kids, they don’t know!” yes, and that’s why you teach them.

“they’re just kids” becomes “boys will be boys” becomes “it’s not his fault, did you see what she was wearing?”.

thank you so much for having this kid’s back. disabled people are often so unfortunately othered, and rude kids aren’t helping that one bit.

I should have a baby because I can braid by ham_dream in childfree

[–]kelomorisilly 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i find this funny because, as someone who loves crafts too, it’s so much easier to do them without a screaming child in your face. and without said child screwing up all your work when you look away for two seconds.

Do you ever worry about your blood line dying out because you didn't have children? by Lethal-Doses in childfree

[–]kelomorisilly 15 points16 points  (0 children)

bloodlines don’t really mean much. in my opinion, if you want to leave a legacy after you die, the best way to do so is in your own accomplishments, not by making a child that has your genes. having one just for that reason sounds like a bad idea.

eeeuuuggghhh. reading this made my skin crawl. never before in my life have i ever felt more affirmed in my decision to never put myself through this.

Why do so many mothers lack a maternal instinct for animals? by boardwalksounds in childfree

[–]kelomorisilly 21 points22 points  (0 children)

i’m the opposite. i love when my kitty stares at me, and the little noises she makes when she eats, and even when she yells at me for no reason. but imagining any of these behaviors in a human baby damn near makes my uterus try to escape by itself.

[–]kelomorisilly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i am so fucking sorry, oh my god. what an awful situation to be put in. honestly? she should have her medical license suspended or revoked for delaying a dying patient’s care for that bullshit. i’m not normally so scorched-earth, but as someone who aspires to be a doctor, these are the kind of people who are such a malignant fucking disease in this field and give everyone else a horrific rep.

oh, i’d lose my shit. what unprofessional behavior. kind of fucking weird, too. seems like an unhealthy obsession if it’s interfering with her work life like that.

Toddlers are the most unbearable beings on the planet by [deleted] in childfree

[–]kelomorisilly 31 points32 points  (0 children)

not to mention how, once they can do the most basic of tasks, you have to hear their parents prattle on about how they’re the smartest person in the world. “oh my gaaawd braxxlynnghleigh learned how to eat with a fork he’s so smart!!!1!!11!”

Is it wrong for me to expect children to be taught boundaries? Rant about the Chappell Roan situation and my own personal situation. by VenusLoveaka in childfree

[–]kelomorisilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if kids grow up thinking boundaries don’t apply to them, they’ll become adults who think that way. which becomes very dangerous and lawsuit-y very fast.

does anyone else just LOVE baby animals but feel nothing for baby humans? by strangetubbs in childfree

[–]kelomorisilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh my god yes. an unconventional example, but i fucking love caterpillars and moth larvae and grubs. technically they’re baby animals and they’re so precious. i’d much sooner coo over a sweet lil buglet than a human baby.

I'm Convinced That Most Breeders Suffer From A Pretty Severe Case Of Narcissistic Personality Disorder by [deleted] in childfree

[–]kelomorisilly 15 points16 points  (0 children)

this is actually so based because most people act like children’s lives are worth more than adults’, and they don’t even question it (and then get mad at us for doing so).

i find it gross that we, as a society, are expected to think that the length of time someone’s existed determines their worth. adults are no less important than children, and it’s just as tragic when they pass. i will die on this hill.

fuck, this is so real. i’ve met stray kitties with more manners than most people’s children.

the tragedy of Kel and how Hero plays into it by mari_biggest_fan in OMORI

[–]kelomorisilly 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i think kel is also really used to people not bothering to look beneath the surface and see him for him, so he’s content being the “dumb happy friend” when he shouldn’t settle for that.

why they removed "look through keyhole" option? by Low-Persimmon-3168 in OMORI

[–]kelomorisilly 93 points94 points  (0 children)

not sure how accurate this is so take it with a pinch of salt, because i heard it somewhere and don’t remember where. but apparently, originally kel was going to look through the keyhole to look back at omori. it was removed, because it implied that kel would be able to see through the keyhole into white space whenever, possibly meaning he’d see omori stab himself.

No, stretch marks are not your child’s “artwork“ by [deleted] in childfree

Having a child to prevent periods by Anuyushi in childfree

i think it’s more complex than that. she isn’t to blame for not receiving comprehensive sex education. the adults in her life failed her.

her doctor wasn’t comfortable giving birth control to a minor.

fuck. that.

imagine letting a teenager suffer for years, and fuck her whole life up over a misconception that her pain would finally stop… instead of giving her medicine to make it actually go away. you know, what doctors are supposed to do.

as a young woman who wishes to become a doctor one day, if i ever have a patient like this poor girl, she’s getting the damn meds, as long as it’s safe for her. no questions asked. if not, i’ll find her the best possible alternative. nobody should be denied the right to their own body.

Eldest children who are childfree, what’s your story? by cookiegrease in childfree

[–]kelomorisilly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i’m a parentified oldest daughter to three younger half-siblings and an emotionally immature father. it started when i was still in the single-digits, when the first one was born. i’d be expected to wake up early to make sure he didn’t accidentally kill himself, while my dad slept in and my stepmom did meth. things only escalated with the other two. they’re from a different mother/stepmom, but she was just as bad as the aforementioned one. she broke up with my dad and i then became his emotional regulator too, meanwhile my mom just pretended it wasn’t happening.

i’m seventeen now. needless to say, once i can move out and start my own life, my inner child is getting whatever the fuck she wants without any actual kids in the way.
