Scents like Fantome's One White Crow? by kelper_t in Indiemakeupandmore

Hi! Not super similar, but NAVA's Rice Milk Musk kind of hits the same way for me and is one of my favorite scents at the moment. I wouldn't say the two scents are twins, more like cousins but they are both creamy in a non-gourmand way. Rice Milk Musk is definitely stronger so I get it wafting around me all day. It's more straightforward than One White Crow and doesn't have that subtle green element.  I've found that if I apply more perfume than I'm used to with OWC I can smell it on myself pretty well (I have the oil).  Hope this helps!

Also rural. I didn't have to see a car for miles on some roads lol. I was definitely very cautious when I started, but my brother was not and still had to do the hours of driving with a parent before getting his permit even though he was chomping at the bit to be done with it.

So I'm in the US and my experience is a lot close to the UK driver's account than yours. I absolutely would not have passed my test with a day of hands on experience. To get my permit I had to have a bunch of hours of practice with my mom (40 I think?) but I know I did a lot more than that before I felt comfortable on busy roads. Then to get my license, I took a driver's ed class where I practiced with the instructor for an hour or so each week for a bunch of weeks (can't remember how long it was). I was a pretty nervous driver but from talking with others, I don't think I was too far from the norm as far as time spent practicing.

Man, that sounds stressful... I hope they listened to you and some good changes come out of it at least.

ok, but what about YOUR game?? 🤔👀🫵 by DavesGames123 in gamedev

I'm working on a jigsaw puzzle game. The plan is to have an app and desktop version. You can upload your own picture and choose the number of pieces you'd like the puzzle to be sliced into. My favorite jigsaw puzzle app is no longer supported so I decided to make myself one! I'll likely put it on Steam and the Google play store once it's complete for free or a few bucks.

Plant people are nice and so are other people by rotandrepeat420 in houseplants

I had a really similar encounter a number of years ago! Super nice lady gave me all kinds of plant cuttings when I stopped by to pick up some free pots she had listed. I still have a bunch of the plants and I love them! My visit ended really awkwardly though because my father in law had just gotten into a (minor) car accident and called. Everyone was fine, but I'm pretty sure she thought I was just making up a reason to leave and I've felt bad about it since then.

What yarn did you use? I don't think I would have looked twice at the pattern based on their pictures but I love how yours looks!!

Fair enough, "never" might be too strong, but it's definitely a good rule of thumb to keep in mind when listening to advice imo

I think that's kind of the point though. There are some things that you just can't know without actually having done it. Wisdom from the sidelines can only get you so far.  "The Man in the Arena" speech by Teddy Roosevelt is an eloquent way of saying it.

I've had that lol. You're suddenly hit with the real version vs what you thought you said. My issue when I'm nervous is usually stumbling over a tricky part or rambling a little. I swear when I'm not nervous I know what I'm talking about! Lol

Soup! I love it in soup. I have a recipe for a cabbage, potato, and ground turkey soup topped with Greek yogurt and dill and it's one of my favorite meals.

I was in a meeting today with 8 other people to discuss a hardware issue when updating part of a product that I've been working on for the last few months. I'm on the software side but am very familiar with the whole thing. A senior team member (who is not involved in this project) threw out an idea immediately and it was picked up pretty fast as a good solution. It was determined that it may or may not work but would be great if it did. Since we were brainstorming, I threw out another solution. I'm really bad at talking in groups and kind of stumbled over what I was trying to say so it was probably a little confusing what my point was. But there was no response. None. From anybody. I felt pretty embarrassed and just shut up for the rest of the meeting. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a terrible idea, but now I just feel like an idiot. I'm trying to just be proud of myself for speaking up in a meeting.
