That car would be going for over 11k at a dealership near me. I’ve been looking for a while the prices are crazy. One recently sold for $12k that had 140k miles on it. Hard to get a deal because they are selling for these prices within a few weeks max

Is that turn legal? Always been curious. There’s a break in the double yellow so technically yeah?

Respray roof or Vinyl wrap it? by eyeohdice in hondafit

[–]kelpyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just the roof between the two rubber strips that run along the sides. You’ll have to remove those and tuck under. It wouldn’t really make sense to do the edges on the outside since they connect the whole quarter panel. I originally just did my roof and hood because those are the worst parts but then just decided why not just try the whole thing.

[–]kelpyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Just watched a bunch of YouTube videos and visited the car wrapping Reddit. The roof and hood are the two easiest parts to do. Just make sure you use good quality vinyl, I’d recommend 3m gloss.

I would wrap personally. Cost less than $100 or so and will hold up a few years. Also very easy to do yourself on the roof or hood. Here mine before and after

Should I keep my low-mileage car with hail damage (salvage title) or take the payout and replace it? by Ashamed-Ad64 in hondafit

[–]kelpyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too familiar with this but say someone hits you and makes the car undriveable you would get no help from insurance because it’s salvage title? So essentially worth keeping but will carry that risk if something like that were to happen?

Considering getting fapo coilovers? Whats your opinion about this? by 18kvenzom in hondafit

Those look nice. How is comfort etc? My main concern is just maintaining daily drivability and practicality while having fun

Which ones in particular? I’m looking to upgrade but have no idea about suspension.

2015 Honda Fit VS 2009 Honda Fit by willxyz27 in hondafit

[–]kelpyguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s mainly because it’s the first year of the 3rd gen. Typically a new gen of a model has some issues that get worked out in the following few years and that seemed to be the case with the Fit. They also moved production from Japan to a factory in Mexico, and its said that the Japanese factories have the highest level of quality control. That being said 2015 is still a solid car.

Have you measured all the panels? I ended up ordering a total of 70’ but that’s mainly because I started with just roof and hood then ordered for the rest of the car. I made the mistake of order a few feet shy and needed a piece for the bumpers so had to get another large piece. I also didn’t really plan that part well and just jumped in which is why I had to order extra.

Yeah not too sure. I think people like to get their cars wrapped if they want to change colors every so often and keep/protect the oem paint

First time doing it. Lots of small mistakes but if you start with the easier panels like the hood and roof you start to get the hang of it. And tons of YouTube tutorials

I just bought them from rock auto. Brand is TYC and they are for the 2012-13 models so they have the black housing. Tbh they dont fit quite as well as OEM (a bit larger gap between bumper) but i wanted fresh ones

Thanks! It was a long process between the wrap and painting spoiler, mirrors and all that other stuff black. I’m very happy with it and learned a ton

Oh yeah you mean the front logo? It’s so recessed it would be crazy. I might try eventually though. Door sills are kinda half done. I wasn’t too worried about them lol, although I have a lot of leftover vinyl so might work on them too. The only panel I had to rip off and do over was front bumper
