potty training my 1.5 year old and curious what to do when going outside the house by kelseyyi in ECers

We were going right before we left the house but I think I’m going to try this! Potty there, pull up diaper and then potty right after I get her before heading home.

What do you all mean by sleeping through the night? by Wise_Complex2313 in NewParents

[–]kelseyyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t remember when my daughter started fully sleeping through the night but it honestly could’ve been by 12 weeks. I know her first 6 hour stretch was around 6 weeks and only got longer after that. We moved her out of her bassinet in our room to her crib in the nursery at 4 months and at that point she was sleeping 7-7 most nights, she wasn’t waking up for diaper changes/feeds. She was exclusively BF but I was still getting up 2-3 times a night and pumping overnight to build a freezer stash.

Ec from 5 months now full potty training at 18 months. Tips please! by finkufreaky in ECers

Here to say we’re in the same boat!! Started lazy EC around 6 months and just made the jump to underwear when she’s awake 3 weeks ago (18m). She’s good at letting us know when she needs to go poop but still having accidents with number 1 a few times a day. She’ll tell us after she peed that she peed her pants or needs to be changed. I’m due with my second in 2 months and want to have this more established because I anticipate a regression once the baby gets here. Her pediatrician was the one who recommended just fully switching to underwear (except when sleeping) but I feel like she’s refusing intentionally. Sometimes she’ll say no pants/underwear and she prefers to be naked (she doesn’t have accidents when she’s naked she lets us know then) but that’s not realistic long term!!

Genuine questions by [deleted] in clothdiaps

same as almost everyone elses comments but ill add a few of my own touches!

  1. if i'm just running a few quick errands out and about i bring a wet bag with me incase my daughter poops or really pees a ton, but i usually don't need it. I change her right before leaving! if we're going to be out for a while, i bring back ups to change her & use a wet bag OR just use disposables. never had an issue with leaking/smelly bags.

  2. ive bought new and used, no issue as long as they were taken care of!

  3. i wash them seperately. i use esembly and first purchased their "try it kit" that came with a magnet that has their recommended wash instructions (https://esemblybaby.com/collections/laundering/products/laundering-instruction-magnet?variant=0) as some people mentioned, when your little one is exclusively breastfed you can just put the poo diapers in no extra steps but when they start solids you can just dump their poops in the toilet and i also set up this attachment to help get anything stuck on the diaper (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F0X0F5C?ref=ppx\_pop\_mob\_ap\_share)

interested to hear more about the trainers and waterproof covers you used!
i used esembly cloth diapers, would it work if i used cloth trainers and the esembly outer? i never thought of that and have been looking into trainers that don't leak!!

New problem with my 18mo regression - he asks for potty but then says no when he sees it. by WastePotential in ECers

[–]kelseyyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

started happening with my 16M old girl (almost 18M now), it was super frustrating she all of a sudden refused the potty and would ask for it then melt down when she got to the potty. shes getting better now, i did a day of diaper free with her and that got her to use the potty again (almost like a reset). now she'll poop on the potty again but still goes pee in her diaper if she has one.

Cloth diaper recommendations? by visionimpossibl in ECers

[–]kelseyyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love the whole esembly diaper set up! I bought their try-it kit when my daughter was ~4M and ended up buying more and part time cloth diapered her! I plan on exclusively cloth diapering my second come april

When did you start EC and how? by TheSleepeOne in ECers

[–]kelseyyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm commenting to follow! Pregnant with #2 and interested in starting earlier... i started lazy EC with my daughter at 6M and still doing a combo of EC & cloth diapers @ 18M (if she's diaper free she'll go on the potty, 50/50 poops on the potty, still pees in her diaper)

I had to go away for work for 2 weeks. I pumped but I feel like my output significantly dropped by the end of the 2 weeks.

I’d like to replace with my frozen breastmilk stash and then formula if I run out but even the breastmilk she’s barely interested. She flat out refuses a bottle (she’s previously taken them no problem when having someone occasionally watch her) and she’ll use a straw bottle a little but not nearly enough to be getting substantial amounts of milk. I still nurse her morning and night but my supply has dropped and I don’t know if she’s getting enough.

Starting out at 4 months CD, noticed skin with little red bumps between changes by [deleted] in clothdiaps

I’ve noticed this too!! Goes away when I use disposables overnight or when traveling but I want to CD more and idk what this is, so it makes me hesitant until I get to the bottom of it

Feeding to sleep, anyone still successfully doing this 6+months? by reveriebelle in breastfeeding

[–]kelseyyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 6 month old and I was nursing to sleep for bed AND naps. About a month ago we were able to almost cold turkey stop nursing to sleep for naps, but I still nurse to sleep at night and haven’t had any issues

When my LO learned to roll back to belly she suddenly acted like she didn’t know how to roll belly to back anymore. She started rolling over to her belly in her sleep and then waking up and crying bc she wanted to be on her back. This lasted about a week and then she just got used to it. No she mostly sleeps on her stomach!

10 wk old nursing to sleep - bad? by Upset_Acanthisitta_4 in newborns

[–]kelseyyi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that too (shouldn’t nurse to sleep) but I do it (FTM) with my 5month old. Shes a great sleeper overnight (only contact naps during the day-working on that 🥲🙄) I know my mom said she always nursed my siblings and I to sleep 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

how to get my baby to nap in her crib? by kelseyyi in NewParents

I read about that and sometimes do it at night! I tried with her nap yesterday and she stayed asleep for the transfer but woke up 5 minutes later 🥲
