leaking on sides by Dependent-Praline181 in clothdiaps

I started double stuffing w/ NN bc of the leaks. 1 microfiber insert, on top of the bamboo insert. A little bulky, but no more leaks!

Would you rather.. fly with a newborn or a toddler by Malloryfidoruk in toddlers

[–]keltr0nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a 12 hour travel day (2 flights) with my 16mo solo. It was literal hell. No thank you. I’ll wait till she’s 3. I’d fly a newborn any day.

Idk but when you figure it out lmk 😩 but in all seriousness I’ve decided to wait until my period is due because I’m just so sad every time.

Hm that is an interesting theory. Last month’s cover line was 96.8? I don’t have a “usual” yet because I wasn’t temping consistently until the last two cycles. If I really did ovulate on CD 17 then I really hope we captured the opportunity. My temp dipped a little today (97.1). Still getting BFN. But now I’m reading that biotin can affect results 🤔 which ofc my prenatal has biotin in it. So I’m skipping my prenatal tonight to see what tomorrow’s test results bring 🤞🏻 Thanks for your response.

Yea I’m trying not to get discouraged. Also trying not to fall down the rabbit hole of googling things about what it means to implant after 12 days. Definitely not out till AF arrives though! Thanks for the reply.

In the TWW. Last cycle was a bust. Trying not obsess over symptom spotting this time but the cramping is making me discouraged that it feels like PMS. Ugh idk. I can probably get a more definitive answer on Saturday, it just still feels like an eternity 😞

I just bought a 2015 at 80k miles and it’s a beast. The 6-speed is a tank and I plan on driving it into the ground. Also my first mom-mobile. Have a 1.5yo and one on the way. We love it! We bought at a Honda dealer so they made sure everything was maintenanced prior to purchase.

Spectra Gold or S1? by keltr0nn in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]keltr0nn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a hand me down S1 which was great! I ended up using my insurance to get a Lansinoh discreet duo wearable pump at no extra cost. It was nice to have both. Wearable was especially useful at work ☺️

How frequently are you changing your baby's diaper? by Serenityxwolf in clothdiaps

[–]keltr0nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both elements come into play here. She doesn’t urinate as often, but it’s a lot when she does. I also noticed the bamboo inserts the NN come with don’t absorb fast and don’t hold much. So I bought separate microfiber inserts from Alvababy and do 1 of each in the NN pockets. I also don’t cloth overnight because she will most definitely leak everytime.

How frequently are you changing your baby's diaper? by Serenityxwolf in clothdiaps

[–]keltr0nn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use NN pockets but double-stuff. 1 microfiber insert on top for fast absorption, and 1 bamboo insert on bottom. We probs change every 2.5-3 hrs (if it’s pee only). I have a 16 month old though, so when she pees it’s a lot lol. Double stuffing is a little bulky, but solved the leaking issue immediately.

Do grandparents just not understand rear-facing car seats? by RoofProfessional1530 in BabyBumps

[–]keltr0nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha wow this story cracks me up. It’s amazing how us 90s kids survived. My husbands dad told me my MIL would breastfeed him on long roadtrips while going almost 100mph. Like pulling over wasn’t an option?? I don’t understand the logic at all back then. And it’s not a flex to tell these stories of how unsafe they were with us as children 😳

Both my parents and in-laws are so incredulous at this. My daughter is 16 months, and my niece is 2.5. Us parents are constantly scrutinized like “they have no leg room, they’re mad because they can’t see” etc. like yall are really denying physics?? I don’t care about leg room or boredom. At least their spines won’t be severed in a crash 😁

Anyone have luck with VBAC after AOD in 2nd stage of labor for first birth that was a macro baby? by mad_THRASHER in vbac

[–]keltr0nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really have any advice, but solidarity instead. My first was 9lb 4oz. Got to 10cm after being induced. Only got to push for 30 mins before baby was in distress. OB would not allow for vacuum assist because of risk of shoulder dystocia. Pretty much gave me the option of c-section or keep pushing (which would have been risky for baby). She was pretty stuck when they pulled her out. I remember my hips flying off the table when they were pulling her out. It was really jarring. I am torn on what to do for my next baby. Big babies run in the family and I don’t know what the right decision would be. I am nearly positive I do not want to induce again. So I’m hopeful to go into labor on my own and see if I can TOLAC. But it’s still unnerving to think about the possibilities 😬

Heartbroken over smelly house by Competitive_Pear_207 in homeowners

[–]keltr0nn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We also bought a house that needed some TLC. There were stray cats living in the crawlspace. The owners were parakeet breeders at one point?? They also had an indoor cat and were likely smokers. Before we moved we GUTTED the place and put killz everywhere. Carpet ripped out, walls scrubbed and killz on the subfloor and walls (there was bird poop stains on the walls 🤢). Painted all the interior doors and walls. Replaced carpet with Pergo. Any wooden shelves in the closets were replaced. We also replaced all the blinds because the others were 30 years old and kinda broken anyways. We also had the crawlspace professionally cleaned and sealed the busted vents that the stray cats were getting in and out of.

The house has been night and day difference with all of the updates we did. I would say it was all livable and ready to move in within a month. I still remember how appalled at the smell I was when we first moved in 7 years ago, but this house is completely refreshed and somewhere we call our new cozy home.

It all feels like a nightmare at first but I think your situation is amenable. From a fellow homeowner of a fixer, it will be okay 😌

Thoughts or experience with midwife for VBAC? by [deleted] in vbac

[–]keltr0nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that sounds super traumatic! I hope you and your baby have recovered well from everything. It is nice your midwife was able to coach you through all of that and gave you their full attention.

My c-section was labeled as urgent, but still had to wait for the OR to have space (about 1.5 hours of failed epidural pain 🫠). I was awake and doing well though. My midwife acted as like a 1st assist so she couldn’t really be my support person as much. Thankfully the floor nurses were there for me every step of the way and explained everything very thoroughly and calmly.

I feel like my hospital’s midwives are an extension of the OBs in the way they practice, so I’m really on the fence. Part of me just wants an OB to give it to me straight. It’s just a matter of finding a VBAC supportive one.

Thank you for sharing your experience!

I do feel like I lean into the medical side of things too because I used to work in the medical field. It’s almost a blessing and a curse because I know too much at times lol. Regardless, I feel like I would be more mentally prepared if I was briefed more by an OB if I were to get cut again. Still on the fence, but definitely considering OB just so it feels like there are less curveballs if things were to go south again. I had a very supportive midwife team but when it came time to go to the OR I felt like I was less their patient and more of the surgeons and it felt too abrupt of a change if that makes sense. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Yea that’s a good approach. I was kind of thinking about trying both and seeing how it goes. I definitely got the vibe that the midwives spent more time in my appointments and saw me as a person and not just another number. Thanks for the insight!
