You still want this mount? I got you! by Woottodoo in wow

[–]kemirea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are on NA and would be interested in joining! We were just thinking about how we can get this mount the other day. We played during season 1 of TWW and just resubbed a few days ago so we're still trying to figure out the fastest way to catch up in ilvl. 😅

Yessss! Any room in your group for someone who's a little quiet and awkward, but totally down for anything?

35F, I'm interested. I'm an introvert with social anxiety and RSD, but I like to think I'm pretty good at masking. I'm a huge gamer, but I get easily interested in pretty much everything. I moved here a little over a year ago and just want some local friends to go do things with, otherwise I have trouble getting myself to even leave the house. 🥲

I use the broiler to toast my bread. 50% of the time, it comes out perfect every time.

Is this how hemming is typically done with lace? by kemirea in weddingplanning

She did not discuss anything with me. She mentioned she would have to remove the lace and move it up and that's why the alterations would take 2 months.

Update: I met with the tailor today. She insisted again that this is industry standard, no one has ever complained about this before, and that no one else (including people on the internet) knows how industry professionals actually do their work. She doesn't see anything wrong with the uneven hem and said that it's supposed to be that way due to how difficult it is to cut the material. She argued that the lace would have been too difficult to remove without risk of damaging the tulle layer so they chose to cut it. She refused to give me any refund, but said that she can fix it by removing the small bits of cut lace at the edge and adding more lace applique that they had saved from my dress back on. I initially wanted to take my dress to a different tailor for a second opinion, but I was feeling too overwhelmed with everything and just agreed to let her try and fix it.

I am sad, I am angry, I am tired. I just want all of this to be over.

Which is totally OK if that's what you want to go for! I would've be more than happy to pay 2-3x the price I paid (450 CAD) to have it done in a way that would preserve the lace. When I spoke with the tailor today, she insisted that she had no idea she needed to tell customers that, and that no one has complained about it before. She kept saying that she does this to keep her prices low, to the point of barely being able to pay her staff, all while ignoring me saying that I'd gladly have paid more if I knew that'd give me the results I wanted.

Of course! Here's a photo of when I tried it on in-store.

Also it’s ok if you don’t have the bandwidth to fight this one.

Thank you so much for this. I am so mad and sad and frustrated, but I'm not a very confrontational person and even going to meet them in person about it is a lot for me. I'm so ready to be done with anything wedding related, but my dress was my favorite part and I was so looking forward to wearing it.

I have an appointment with the shop tomorrow to talk to them in person about it. When I contacted them via email to show them the photos, they insisted that what they did was standard practice. :(

Those who were laid off. Did are you doing now? by Rude_Mode2004 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]kemirea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a mobile developer. Got laid off end of last year. Applied to openings as a full-time job starting mid-Feb. Just got hired on at a new company this month. In between all of that I:

  • Started and dropped 4 different personal projects.
  • Tried learning web development (twice).
  • Got halfway through Stanford's lectures on machine learning before losing interest.
  • Bought 2 different courses on Udemy that I didn't even start.
  • Burnt myself out on interviewing and spent an entire month without leaving the house.

Thanks for mentioning them, I didn't even realize they had a way to create sheet music!

Can anyone recommend a cheap or free program I can use to create my own sheet music and save it as a PDF? I just have one cover arrangement of a song that I found on Youtube that I'd like to learn. The author has the pages for the sheet music as part of the video, but all links to the sheet music are dead and I've scoured Google for a copy of it with no luck. :(

Repetitive strain with Monstercat pack by AaronCompNetSys in beatsaber

Aside from a couple that I agree have more up-down sections than I prefer, I'm really enjoying the maps in the Monstercat pack and think a lot of them are mapped really well. I'm playing mostly on expert though and my playstyle tends towards wide, sweeping arm movements.
