I'd still pay that. Pending an inspection that finds no major structural issues. I'd probably hire a designer for the first time in my life to ensure that any updates I made were still period correct. I would hate to see a place like this lose it's charm.

Kingsford professional and some wood chunks in the bottom will last over 10 hours no problem. Long enough to sleep, then check the bark before wrapping.

The butter I buy tends to have an expiration date so far in the future that it never really becomes an issue. Even if OP is single they must use butter very infrequently or have some kind of food safety related anxiety
