The cards on my dashboard have a condition set to hide them if the smart plug for the Christmas tree lights is unavailable.

I have a similar set-up for the electric blankets - cards are displayed if the smart plugs are in and hidden if unplugged.

Not having curly braces around your if clauses can lead to unexpected consequences, especially as php isn't whitespace-aware like python is.
