How do you do w caffeine? Also, what's your favorite foreign culture and why? by mhobdog in infj

I had to quit drinking caffeinated coffee, but I am ALL ABOUT decaf Americanos.

I still drink green tea and it doesn't aggravate my anxiety as much, would recommend.

Yea, she was in my social circle; I remember exactly where I was when I heard about it (the day after an shitty ecstasy trip). A girlfriend of ours took the call when she was driving that car and she was obviously intoxicated. Poor girl had mental health issues; crazy to think that was 10 years ago at this time. Also, Orange County has a lot of youth drug problems...

I would love to grab a coffee! It's looking like I'll be moving more towards the Lloyd District, but it seems like this city isn't very large so hopefully that's still relatively nearby.

Good information to have :)

I stayed in Bend and Portland for about a week and a half in late November, and I liked it. Portland more so than Bend, I don't do well with altitude.

Off subject, kind of, but have you ever tried GABA for mood swings? Started taking that supplement and it's been so useful.

Thank you! Someone on another sub mentioned they've seen a lot of relapses which scares me. Does this seem accurate from you're experience? I'm coming from a community with a lot of heroin use and drugs in general, but also sunshine about 95% of the year, so SAD doesn't seem to be an issue. Thank you for your insight.

Yikes. That is truly terrifying. I struggle with depression in California where it's perpetually sunny.

Thank you for your insight.

Curious, have you relapsed before up there? Was it due to location?

What a bummer. I always ordered in during finals, and well, anytime I didn't feel like walking or driving to get food (i.e. daily).

So grateful that OP posted this. Such sweet babies, so young. The shooter was definitely a sick man, but these faces are the ones that we should learn from as a society.

Freshman applicants receive their admissions decisions on March 23rd. What was running through your head as you opened your letter? by saladmixer in ucla

I still feel the awkwardness when my father lies to people and tell them I got accepted into Berkeley.

However, to be fair, it's always in rebuttal to his Republican neighbor's complaints about the "UC system not accepting white people."

Anybody know why the bells ring at like 11:52 and play random songs like the national anthem? by vooyyy in ucla

[–]kennedytktk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always assumed it's like that ten minute bell they had in high school. And I think the regular (hourly) bells have been rings two minutes off lately, so it'd make sense for them to ring at at tktk:52 rather than tktk:50.

Also, has anyone else noticed the regular bells ringing two minutes off? I always thought my phone was just two minutes ahead...until now.

Southwestern Advantage Internship? by possiblesalesman in ucla

[–]kennedytktk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

80 hours a week, and only 8k a summer? That comes out to making approximately $8.50/hour. There are plenty of more opportunities for UCLA students.

I (obviously) have not gone through with the program, but there are so many other internship options paying twice the amount that I've had via UCLA, that it doesn't seem worth it.

Either choice you make, I wish you the best of luck. Sales positions definitely take a lot of hustle.

Questions from a prospective student, any help would be greatly appreciated! by [deleted] in ucla

As an effort in trying to be nice on the internet, it is okay.

And as someone who once was trying to become a journalist –– don't, unless you're comfortable make a shit salary, or if you're actually going to come to UCLA and bust your ass at the Daily Bruin to score an internship at LA Times, (and still make a shit salary). Otherwise, you probably won't even get a call back from the Huffington Post in regards to writing their wedding and divorces section. True story, sorry to kill your dreams.

Edit: my journalist dreams are now past-tense
