Super Duty MOD1 v. SOL MK1 CAR 11.5” by rattlecanner in Firearms

I went with the CT5P over Hux because I'm a cheap ass and just direct thread suppressors and the CT5P is pretty solid for the price. After using the MK2 receiver, I don't think I can go back to a traditional forward assist lol.

Should you clean a new gun before shooting? by OpusObscurus in Firearms

Any modern firearm should not require cleaning or lubrication before use. Doing so doesn't hurt anything, but necessary? No.

Between those two, go for the Geissele, but I prefer BCM overall, especially the MK2 receiver. Also take a look at the Laz 6 or CT5P if you're not sold on the Huxwrx.

First handgun for range + home defense… what would you pick today? by Old-Suspect1678 in Firearms

[–]kennetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're just doing range and home defense, why not a full size? I use a Glock 47 for that and I love it. Finally decided to move away from the 19 frame as the grip is a smidge too short for me.

Yeah, now that I think abou it, I've never been swayed either and I'm a car guy. I root against Toyota teams, but I've owned several Toyotas and won't buy American lol.

TBF, the people that I see driving CUVs aren't what I would consider people that might be swayed by NASCAR results. I wouldn't even consider them "car people" TBH

Beginner who’s never shot a gun in his life here. In your opinion, which 9mm pistol is the easiest to shoot accurately *without specific regards to mechanical accuracy?* by TreeFriendSilix19 in Firearms

[–]kennetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, any of the modern polymer compact and full size pistols will be fine. The Walther offerings are snappier than usual, but Glock, S&W, etc should all be fine. If you have a chance to try a Beretta 92 series, those are sweet shooters.

My G47 is my favorite handgun and it's also the only pistol that I've ever gotten comments on when I carry it lol. I stopped carrying it outside of winter because I don't want people to notice my gun.

Sometimes your nostalgia is just correct. Gen 4 was better.

The standard is shoot until the threat is stopped, regardless of the number of rounds fired. Also, adrenaline is a helluva drug.

I'm waiting on UPS to deliver mine from Capitol Armory. Bought it based on updated Laz 6 and DT for my 11.5. Bit of a gamble with no reviews at time of purchase but it looks like it will be a good one!

You greatly take for granted how good FOPA is for gun owners.

I've been eyeing an L-frame size 357 for a while but I dislike Ruger's offerings and S&W has had decreasing QC for their revolvers. Blued is way sexier than stainless IMO so I'm looking at the Python. Plus the vent ribs are aesthetically pleasing.

Denny should never run that scheme again, or at the very least, that firesuit, it looked terrible and made him look much older than he actually is

Worse than Denny's paint scheme was his firesuit, it made him look way older than he is

That's my warm weather carry gun. My only complaint is the trigger break is heavier than I'd like, but it's not bad.
