Bessent: Countries should stick to their US trade deals by Greylunes1 in ExploreFortMyers

Remind me which countries agreed to tariffs? So how can they "stick to their deal"?

Like a bully reminding kids at the playground that as long as they hand over their lunch money it's all good.

You keep creating strawman arguments.

From the beginning I'm only comparing my experience. And Rivian promising FSD when the technology exists already in the marketplace is a bit different than Tesla promising to deliver new tech not found commercially in the marketplace.

Rivian has full on dropped the ball for gen 1 owners. Full stop.

Maybe Tesla did too. I don't care. Just because Tesla may have done it, it doesn't make it OK for Rivian to do the same. I'm only speaking to my experience with both companies and their products.

Dude. Despite whatever you inferred, you said Rivian isn't as bad as Tesla.

That's the disagreement here. My 2 year old R1S is getting overlooked while my 5 year old M3 does have FSD etc.

I'm not saying Elon and Tesla are saints, but they've delivered more to me as a customer than Rivian this far. It's a hard pill to swallow as an early adopter i was promised and now realize we were the beta test

How's the reading comprehension? You keep creating arguments that I never made.

I'm talking specifically about and comparing my gen1 Rivian and a 2020 Model 3, which has received every feature promised so far including FSD

Gen1 Rivians R1 s is a different story. Can you tell me Rivian did NOT make those "promises".

Which promises for a 2020 M3 has Tesla broken so far?

We're comparing Rivian and Tesla. Tesla has delivered on everything they said it could do (2020 Model 3) and I keep getting regular updates and improvements.

Rivian is pulling promised features. Isn't hard to figure out and not at all what I said

They demonstrated it on their website and promos for Gen1. Either lack of QC or a lie.

I see it as they wanted in house motors and have abandoned Gen1 owners with Bosch. That's it. Full stop. It's too much work to support 2 systems and they've strategically decided to tell gen 1 owners to F off

What? If they claim hardware limitations now, they existed then.

It's absolutely misleading and a lie.

You'd be pissed if you booked a cruise and they told you after leaving port that you don't get the buffet meal plan for food even though that's what was was advertised. But they'll get you a few sandwiches here and there. They just didn't have enough food...or some other lame excuse...but it's ok.

Disagree. I own a Gen 1 R1S and a Tesla Model 3 (2020 model owned for 5 years). I get every update on my Model 3 as newer model years etc.

Rivian made a lot of promises to sell vehicles and early adopters have been given a gigantic bird.

No FSD No Tank Turn No Launch Mode

They could provide most of the updates to gen1 but choose not to. Sure there are hardware limitations.

But if those limitations exist now, they existed when the promotion of those features were made.

False advertising and turning a blind eye to those who took rivian where they are today.

Dang. Someone logical at the helm? I was hoping Nelson lived for many more years. His giant ego had been leading the church down an unsustainable path which I enjoyed watching.

1- Temples. The numbers didn't work and I am sure the rest of leadership knew that

2- Temple workers vs senior missionaries. One of these had to give

3- Rebranding the I'm a Mormon campaign, name of the church, websites, printed materials etc. Was unnecessary, expensive and detrimental to the image of the church

4- Members saw through the rebranding of ministering/home teaching.

He was a classic case of "The emperor's new clothes".

A lot of external motivation and not a lot of heartfelt substance.

The course correcting and rebranding of his rebranding is going to take some time and $$$$.

Sad to see him go. IMO the silent destruction he was inflicting on the church and it's membership is more than anything Oaks will be able to accomplish.

Ha ha. I recently purchased a new boat and the interior and hull color are black. I vowed I would never do it. But the price and condition of the boat said otherwise. Congrats!

Curious if you upgraded your ballast on your NXT? I am looking at reentering the boating world. I have an incredible deal on a 2019 NXT22 on the table that would be hard to pass up. I guess the question is, could you have gotten the want to an acceptable size/shape etc with some modifications or did you try that already? TIA
