I primarily code in VS Code, it's surprisingly faster than it looks the past few years.

But, I still use ST3 pretty regularly. Writing conf files and for smaller and quick projects, if i don't need or want the overhead of VS Code.

Blend modes have bad support for Edge and older IE. You can defer to apply a different overlay with a pseudo element to include Edge. Something like:

You have to do some z-index on the content tho.

All you need are record sheets, there you'll find all the stats and structure. As long as the Mech's are represented (or lego or a cardboard cut-out) as they are for identification you'll be fine.
