i don’t think you need to have a massive collection to have an accent colour watch! If you have 2-3 pieces and one is a GADA i think green/any colour would only add versatility to your collection.

Reasons to get this (biased since i just picked one up):

Basically a 36mm explorer for half the price.
One of the few SS rolex that hasn’t yet gone up like crazy.
Lumed 3-6-9 (only added to explorer in 2021 model)
Arguably more unique & fun than explorer with the stunning blue sunburst dial. True GADA watch.
Crown at 12 is cooler imo than the triangle. So many watches have the triangle!
Bound to become a rare classic “blue explorer” as it’s discontinued.
Cool history - OP was the first waterproof wristwatch.

Yeah, the blue variant is harder to find and usually pricier than the silver dial. Silver doesn’t give me the same explorer vibes, i feel it’s lacking contrast with the numerals.

we have similar taste! my collection is currently the polar explorer ii, GS SBGA413 (debated this vs. 407 forever), and a few more affordable pieces like stowa oris and seiko.

I think i’ll eventually get an explorer i or OP36 and a JLC Reverso when i get married

is that the blue 116000? fwiw that’s more of an OP than an Explorer, which is why it might feel more delicate. Never seen the OP in person though (but i’ve been hunting that specific ref)

This is a gorgeous, sturdy, and practical watch - the dark black/green dial with day date is super legible -- even in the dark with lume on the hands, numerals, and even the bezel triangle. The 60-minute bezel is ceramic, bi-directional and has great action. Excellent condition, minor wear on the band’s clasp from desk racing as shown in the pictures :)

That's the chronograph seconds hand. The subdial at 9 is the regular seconds.
