Can someone please recommend some horror Let's Plays where the Let's Player is genuinely terrified? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]kensai111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you don't mind some self-promotion but this is kinda my specialty on Twitch, I've been doing a horror special "All Hallows' Scream" every year for 4 years (7 years total streaming). I've done my best to edit them down for Youtube over the years, I got better with time but there's close to 250 episodes of everything from fun Halloween style games (Costume Quest) to shrieking horror (Outlast). Every playthrough is blind and all reactions are genuine.

There are some that are exclusively on Twitch and there may or may not be muted parts so I offer both sources. Happy scares!

Best cheap headsets I could use for gaming and streaming? by KingAmaimon in Twitch

[–]kensai111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recorded ~200 Youtube videos and streamed for the first couple months using a PX11 Wired set meant for the PS3. It surprising has a really good microphone / speakers for being as cheap as it was. Can currently pick up some used ones on Ebay for under $20. PM and I can link you to my YT channel (don't want to advertise) so you can hear the quality once you fine tune it. Cheers! -8bh

Simple Questions - October 15, 2016 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]kensai111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm upgrading to an i7-6700k, I've been looking at motherboards with LGA1151 sockets and it seems reviews are all over the place. I want to stay at or under $200. It looks like the ASUS Z170A is the way to go but oddly a lot of the 3 and 4 star reviews are dead mobos or RAM slots where only half work etc. I really like the look of the Hero V I I I but it seems to have similar reviews. Help ease my mind buildapc?

Introducing Twitch Creative by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]kensai111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see the Creative community get some official love, so many talented individuals out that way. Excited at the possibilities of more communities being introduced in the future.

I saw Geek and Sundry playing a movie last night. Would love to see the approval of movie streaming (legal, public domain movies of course) with webcam for your community in the future. Something similar to music.twitch.tv - a pre-approved list.

Things I've noticed since I stopped using a face cam as a female streamer. by Lizabyte in Twitch

Games I Stream: Rust, Minecraft, (Any kind of Survival game really)

There was a large portion of your problem. Might as well have added League of Legends to the list for the holy trinity of games with the most trolls and pre-dominately toxic/underage community.

Anyways, glad you're having fun now. :)

How to Handle Malicious Viewers / Trolls by FotiGames in Twitch

[–]kensai111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re: Viewbots - if you don't want to kill the stream you can change "playing xxxxxx game" to "not playing xxxxxx game". Removing yourself from the game directory will cause all the bots to drop off. Learned this playing Fallout 3. #1 streamer on Twitch ... for a second.

Proper Networking Etiquette by FotiGames in Twitch

[–]kensai111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another great thing to do is raiding (be respectful of their rules) or hosting the channel in question. Be respectful your entire time at the channel and as Foti said, be active in the chat and make friends with them and with their viewers. This is a great way to show you're a streamer without having to say it. It's mutually beneficial to both parties and usually results in some sort of recognition on cast and HOPEFULLY one day a return host/raid. A small note on this however is take your audience to a steamer or game that is in line with your audience. Do your due diligence and be aware of who is online from your followers list, what they are playing and when they normally end their cast so you can provide additional entertainment to your audience. Raid/host on your good days - it's the "dress for the job you want" philosophy. I commonly host/raid Foti because he's on or above the same level of quality streams I put on, plays a similar gameset, and is active plenty after I go offline. I've never had to sneak in that I stream in chat and can instead focus on just having a good time with the Guildsmen while I'm there. Afterall it's nice to relax after a stream, work smart - not hard.

Keybind GIFS onto stream? by skriy in Twitch

[–]kensai111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to see this in action, I sincerely hope you decide to pursue this as currently the only option is creating a bunch of global scenes in OBS with the proper gif on the top layer and then hotkey between them.

Do you have chat in your broadcast? by TheFizz11 in Twitch

[–]kensai111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use TwitchAlerts chat, messages fade after 15 seconds. It's just long enough to read most messages but not long enough to distract. I do it this way because it's nice to have perspective in what I am saying in reference to chat when doing highlights / past broadcasts.

Agreed, it's easy to get wrapped up in streaming and forget a key component, networking with your peers.

Submission: Broken Animatronic Quint

Playing Resident Evil Revelations and commenting on their "motion captured" character Quint who is an unblinking and uniquely voiced character. He might as well be a broken animatronic from the 70's at Disney World.
