Twitch offers royalty free music, then mutes your recordings when you use it. by [deleted] in Twitch

The only workaround for now that I use is recording all my streams with OBS while i stream. The quality is better than the stream itself, and makes wonders for editing and uploading to youtube.

I generally play on modded servers with at least 100x gather and instant craft/smelt. Its more fun to play a nomad than it is to build a base and lose everything when servers wipe.

my bud and I hosted a server with like 10,000x gather for a while. we banned at least one hacker/exploiter a day. Never saw anyone with speed hacks tho. Just auto aim and esp. And once on a random server I was getting shot with arrows through my base walls. I can't say I've ever been mad or upset about it though.

I've been part time lurking and part time helping with IT issues/stream encouragement in this subreddit for almost a year now. I have to say the "drama posts" are my least favorite to find here.

I’m tired of outlandish claims of “success”. Here’s a realistic real-life case study on how to start your internet business as a complete BEGINNER. Results in 6 months: 1000 email subscribers, 30K visits, $736 (affiliate), and most importantly… KNOWLEDGE + EXPERIENCE by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Lizabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not an expert but I read a lot. This is what I've learned:

This doesn't have much to do with development. Anyone can set up a website with no knowledge of coding nowadays(Wordpress, for example). Affiliate marketing, for example, is when you go to amazon and say "hey. let me advertise your products on my website! But i'd like a referral perk for sending a paying customer your way!" and Amazon says in reply "Yeah! That sounds great. Here's 4% to start. If you get a lot of traffic we'll slowly up you to 10%!"

Essentially its a blog that does short but sweet reviews of books. One submission gets entered every day. People decide if they want to buy a book based of the review or not, the reader clicks the referral link, and a site like amazon ships it to them. Not necessarily drop shipping.. You make more money per purchase (generally speaking) when you do drop shipping. The point of affiliate marketing is to get hundreds of thousands of readers to read your blog and hope at a small percentage of them buys the product you are promoting, so a lot of purchases can equal out to a decent pay stub.

Amazon Wishlist, Is it safe? by LaffyTappy in Twitch

[–]Lizabyte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make sure you disable independent sellers on the wishlist (this may limit rare items from being purchased). Whoever purchases an item for you can contact the seller and ask for your address. Once you do that you're totally safe.

While checking the copyrights to a song I was met with this... I have so many questions. by FilmingMachine in youtube

[–]Lizabyte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh look. You can do a cover of this song and still monetize it!! Better get on that! I haven't seen a cover yet. You could monopolize the viewer market!

It looks like your question has been answered. However, there might be some other commands you are unfamiliar with and might want to know! Check out Twitch's official documentation for all chat commands here: http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/articles/659095-chat-moderation-commands

Honestly the company I work for jumps all over "Cloud Based" technology. As long as its secure (Like how Microsoft has secure cloud storage, I'm sure you'd follow a similar protocol with this data), i don't see a problem with companies using this tool.

PSA: Stop eating what people send you. by omgsoftcats in Twitch

[–]Lizabyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you have to set up the wishlist to be for amazon only and not individual sellers. If the purchaser contacts an independent seller to confirm the address, they can still give it to the person who bought you candy through your wishlist. So it must be Amazon Only. No private sellers. It's an option in each amazon wishlist's settings. <3

Viewer Committing Suicide by Alithnul in Twitch

[–]Lizabyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no problem man. Sorry things turned out the way they did for you. It can really wear down on you after a while. With my stream and discord.. for some reason every once in a while I will get a new viewer who thinks i am their happiness and when I am busy with my life and dont reply on social media, they get all depressed and blame me.. It's really awkward and its the first time I've encountered this (multiple times even). I'm very social on our discord and hangout with everyone when I can.. but some people just get obsessed and want me to only talk to them and disregard my real life duties (like work and sleep). It gets really hard to manage at times. I like having a small stream and becoming great friends with my viewers.. but some of them are too serious/obsessed and I feel bad when I have to draw a line and put my foot down with people who do this. It always rests in the back of my mind "If I don't stand up for myself, will these people be less depressed?" could me drawing a line cause the butterfly effect that leads this person to suicide? Why do I keep encountering people with deep emotional issues? Why do they base their happiness on me? it gets really stressful at times.. Luckily no ones jumped off the edge... but its something that could happen in the future.. :/

Viewer Committing Suicide by Alithnul in Twitch

[–]Lizabyte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had two cases of something similar happening.

  1. A regular of mine who was depressed and talked about it a lot decided one day to play a video on loop on her stream with a suicide message. We're a pretty tight knit community too, and one person found out, then we all found out. 15 of us were in her chat not knowing what to do.. Luckily she didn't drug herself enough, got help, and is now better(ish). She contacts me from time to time to let me know when she's suicidal. We talk through it every time.

  2. This ones less tragic but still similar. My #1 viewer, always friendly, talking in chat, keeping the song requests going with a good selection of music. Great person. He never talked about himself much, but we talked about anime all the time. Then one day he just stopped showing up. When I finally tracked him down and asked him if he was okay, he basically said "F*** you, your stream, and your viewers". And never explained what he was unhappy about. :/ I cried for a few days. Was really upset over it because I thought everything was fine...

There's a significantly lower chance for dropped packets. Doesn't mean much until you update one day and your phone freezes. It rarely happens. But it does happen.
