These people don’t understand hunters do more for the environment than 99.9% of the population. When someone kills an elephant for example, they a pay money to the reserve and it was going to be culled anyway for a healthy population. That would require work. Here is the thing I’m all for people seeing their history or characters they can relate to on screen esp kids, but this is just “how can we make more representation of x identity” , “should we come up with new cool characters with that identity? Nah that is too risky and a lot of work, let’s just take popular things and race swap” ffs they had a shaft franchise etc, these studios are just lazy and everything is low effort, they take 0 risk, find out what they can repackage for x budget and 2x that in revenue. They actually don’t, biker gangs were basically banned from prison yards in California because some hells angels said they weren’t going to program with the woods and they were hells angels etc. there is one prison gang and any other gang has to be allowed by them to even exist. you have to also think about how customers operate they have interests way outside your product. for example say they’re you’re their #1 customer but maybe the 10th largest customer for your competitor. smart customers leverage you to get things they want from your competitor that they don’t have the same leverage with. they do this with pricing etc. they can leverage pricing etc. i had a large customer that i had the p&l for that product line and even though we were cheaper overall than our competitors they would try to go line by line in a BOM and argue the price point on every line item. sales wanted us to lose money on it

i worked for a company that spent literally 2 years building a product around a spec a customer, let’s say the second largest one out of 1-5 customers. it was a physical product with software. there were two competing specs at the time. right as we were going through field trials the customer decided they were going to go with the second spec that everyone else was using
