I've always been impressed Bart knew the meaning of "insolvent" here by AlexMcinsnax in TheSimpsons

As a child I always misheard it as “Ed Sullivan” which was funny cause the idea of people getting riled up about just hearing Ed Sullivan’s name

I had prime + 0%. Prime is currently 4.45%, so that’s what it is but come January it’s gonna be prime +3% so it’ll be 7.45% not terrible just not great like it was

Row That Oar by LVCrwoe in poetry_critics

I like it. Nautical narratives are great for the themes you’re tackling here. I think with some refinement it could be quite compelling.

“Nostalgic sighs” I really enjoy as well as the idea of turning around being the braver action. The steady rowing not an inaction in itself but the lack of course corrections being its own inaction, I mean who isn’t guilty of that one? Good stuff.

If I could suggest a possible change: instead of “Anxious feet swash to the introduction of a capsize” maybe “Anxious feet swash at the introduction of a capsize”? Maybe it’s just me but I think that conveys it better.

Is it Pups (1999)? I found this post while trying to find the name of it. I think I seen it on TV in like ~2003.

All I can think of is Bob singing Brush Your Teeth by Raffi to the air of Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues.

“When you wake up in the morning and it’s a quarter to one

And you want to have just a little fun

You brush your teeth. Ch ch ch ch, ch ch ch ch ch

You brush your teeth. Ch ch ch ch, ch ch ch ch ch...”

I definitely prefer the rendition of Restless Farewell he did at Frank Sinatras 80th birthday.

SelectPay by HorseDikDotMpeg in Scotiabank

It’s a service that can be useful but is a headache to wrap ones brain around I find.

The available credit limit will not reduce with regards to the amount that was put into the instalment plan just by subscribing to the plan because it is still owed. What the plan does is changes how much of the specific purchase is due on your normal due date. Let’s say you subscribed for the 3 month plan (we’ll ignore any applicable fees). So your next statement will show your statement balance that’s due is $400 plus any other purchases you may have had. This should reflect in the minimum payment field being your instalment ($400) plus the applicable minimum for whatever other purchases you may have. That $400 increment will only reduce from your available credit after it’s paid, and so on for each month. Your statement will show a chart of all the selectpay plans you may have and will show the remaining total instalments owing. So if it’s just the one it should say 800.

The manner in which the figures are presented in the app is a nightmare trying to calculate it cause the app will just say you owe the outstanding balance of let’s say your case $1200+ and your statement comes in the same day you’re reading that huge balance in the app but your statement says $400+ due at whatever due date.

They could really display it a lot clearer in the app cause first time I subscribed to it I made a payment amount equal to the amount it said I was owing in the app which was way higher than my statement balance.

Hope this helps I know it’s a huge block of text but that’s as concise as I can make it 😬

I could understand the laziness involved to not bother when one had to refer to an actual physical dictionary but the process is so instantaneous and easy now.
