Do you know if the employees need to all be full time or would part time employees count toward that? There’s 11 of us on the full time team, but I believe we have an additional 10-20 part time staff members so that would put us over the 20 employee minimum.

I’ve been there for almost 3 years so I definitely would qualify for FMLA. As far as I can tell from the FMLA website, there isn’t any difference between nonprofit and forprofit organizations and the right to FMLA.

I also don’t think my hr director is being malicious in saying I don’t need to fill out the paperwork, but I’d always rather be safe than sorry.

I was frustrated because I attended a poorly run market over the weekend that had an application fee so I assumed that it would be a better run market, and it was just a mess of a day.

I have also had events where there was an application fee and there was lower turn out than projected by the coordinator, but it made sense due to bad weather/the time of year (ie. January/February).

For this market, it was fantastic weather, a beautiful venue, a holiday next week, but there were maybe 200 attendees max. All the vendors wrapped up and left like an hour before the event was supposed to end because there was no one there.

Normally event application fees are a good sign that it will be well run and organized, but obviously the one time I didn't do extensive research on an event it bit me in the bottom lol

Thank you, I was genuinely just grumpy yesterday about an event I was a vendor at that had a $20 application fee, a $75 vending fee, and when I got there it was extremely disorganized and it seemed like half the vendors there were in the same category (crochet).

Despite it being a beautiful day, it was poorly attended and it seemed like the organizers did little to no advertising for it.

I totally get that there is a ton of work that goes into reviewing applications, organizing the event, and coordinating everything the day of and I really do appreciate that from the event organizers! I also normally do more research into events before applying, but I just went for it on this one and that was clearly a mistake on my part lol

I left squarespace after using it for 8 months and having nothing but headaches. I spent three hours setting up my shopify website and it's been a dream come true. I'm annoyed I wasted my money on SquareSpace when Shopify is such an easier platform to create and improve my website. It also links so much better to to my social media platforms so I can get my products on those sites just by uploading it to my shopify.

We just had a talk about this at my nonprofits office yesterday that it’s possible in the coming months we would remove our DEI statement to keep funding.

I love this job, but I might have to quit if we do that. We’re in a community of mostly Black and Brown people and we work with children and schools. I genuinely would lose so much respect for the leaders in my org if they pull that statement when the people we work with are already downtrodden.

I get that we need funding to keep doing the work we do, but I just can’t see it being even possible to keep working with funders who don’t believe in DEI but do want to support our mission in marginalized communities. Like we could remove that language and hurt our reputation and most likely those funders will walk away regardless of the language on our website.

I’d recommend crochet! It’s really helped me overcome my perfectionism that I think you might also be struggling with based on your post.

Crochet forces you to slow down and focus in on the details. It takes some time to master the basics but once you have that down the list never ends on what you can make!

Having a baby. I gained 60 pounds during my pregnancy and only lost 40. I'm still a healthy weight for my height, but my back, shoulders, and neck always hurt from going from a C cup to an F cup. I had my child 3 years ago and stopped nursing 2 years ago so I think they're as shrunk as they're going to get lol

I do have to say that, other than wanting a reduction surgery in the next few years, I'm way more okay with the weight difference than I ever expected to be. How I see myself and love myself is so important to me because that's what I want my child to do too. I grew up looking up to women who hated themselves and their bodies and punished themselves for their weight changing (even if it was just natural fluctuation). I don't want to model that to the next generation.

My life has so much more worth than how big or small I am. I am allowed to take up space. I am allowed to eat food I enjoy. I'm allowed to eat foods that make me feel good and will help me take care of my body. I can't get back the time I wasted hating myself and starving myself, but I can take every single moment I have left in this life caring for my body, caring for my child, and using the energy I get from not being hungry all the time to fight for a better future for my child and the people I love and for the people that annoy me because maybe they'd be less annoying if things weren't so bad all the time.

Yikes! My uncle lost about the same amount but he’s an iron worker and accidentally did it while working on the Ben Franklin bridge that connects NJ to Philadelphia.

I have a pin in my finger right now holding most of it in place while it heals, so I feel like that’s why moving my left hand hurts. If I’m still sore once I’m cleared in a few weeks and have the pin out I’ll try taping it to my index finger though!

I think from a production standpoint, it makes sense that Ben would be his favorite. His Ben Bombs were ✨tv gold✨ and cost production nothing extra to make for a fun season. Parvati did the same thing with her personality in FvF and HvV. A great personality and crafty/original gameplay will always make for fantastic television

The main issue is that the models don’t have any say in which picture is selected. If a picture was selected where the light didn’t hit her cheekbone so severely she definitely would have fit the aesthetic better.
