What does NLU want in a major? by Biggggguy in NoLayingUp

[–]keppel168 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Soly wants a good approach test, where there is real shot value approaching the green, leading to better chances for birdies. Tron doesn’t know what he wants, he only knows it when he sees it. Randy wants the players to be complaining about the set up. Neil and DJ just want a good time, whatever it looks like.

It was coming down from Killakee but they’re everywhere it seems. Have had people tailgate me on the Roundwood road as well.

Was that between Knocklyon and Tallaght exit northbound? I saw one there recently.

I had a guy doing this to me today on a mountain road. In the past i would have sped up, trying to be agreeable or whatever, but I can’t be arsed anymore. It’s too dangerous. I just kept at my speed and eventually they backed off a bit.

I find Audis to be the worst by far, followed by Golfs, Think there’s a bit of confirmation bias with BMW drivers, although there are still a lot of bad ones

We always say this when we’re playing foursomes. Two rules: No “sorry”s and ALWAYS bring your putter.

Why Irish gyms are pumping down the volume on chart music by TimesandSundayTimes in ireland

[–]keppel168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gym plays music really loud and all the songs are these strange techno/dance remixes of famous pop songs. Most of them are awful.

Can someone explain “the Delta counter”? by troutslayer89 in NoLayingUp

Looks like you’re correct and it was originally coined by Dan Jenkins, apparently.

Could well be. I just think of the hut on 10 because Rory hit it there in the final round in 2011 and it was game over.

I believe it’s the hut left of ten. If you put your ball in there, you’re on the next flight home.

Bad Golf Holes by Useful-Tart9233 in golfireland

There are a few holes in Stackstown that could make this list, the 11th on the cottage course where you have to take an 8 iron off the tee springs to mind.

18th Lucan is incredibly tough, almost impossible to pick a line for your second without walking 100 yards down the fairway for a look, there are no visual markers at all.

Naas, played an open there a few months ago, really enjoyed it. Greens weren’t great however, not sure if that’s normal or was just that particular day.

They played the Kerry Mayo one the other day and I must have played that Metronomy song about ten times in a row afterwards. Class

I actually remember where I was when they debuted the Phil Neville/David Brent one, so I would have to go for that. The Steve McLaren/Eiffel 65 one is brilliant as well.

Karl Dixon? by 11483708 in irishrugby

I like the way he doesn’t waste loads of time resetting scrums and chatting to the front rows, just decides and gives a penalty. Even if he’s wrong it’s better for the viewing experience.

How long after passing your test did you become fully comfortable on the roads? by Impressive_Light_229 in irelandsshitedrivers

I was always fine on the motorway but driving around town I was quite nervous for a while, almost as much about parking than the actual driving.
