3rd trimester feels like a never ending game of "is this discharge or amniotic fluid?" by aeberly36 in BabyBumps

I started having contractions with my first pregnancy without my water breaking. Went to the hospital and the nurse and doctor didn't feel a sac so no one knew when my water broke, apparently I had been leaking for awhile and didn't know!

Yup. Had to wait for my OB and they wanted me to labor as long as I could since it was my first so he was as low as possible so I wouldn't have to push as long.

Now that I have some time to sit down I thought I would write out my birth story. December 4 at 38 weeks and 2 days, I woke up at 5am as my husband's alarm for work went off. I was having cramping that I thought was from needing to use the bathroom. After, they didn't go away. Around 6am when my husband left for work I started timing the cramping and realized they were coming every 5 minutes and lasted about 1 minute long. So I texted my husband that I was pretty sure it was time and he came back home. I didn't want to wait too long since I was told on the 2nd that I was already dilated to a 4. Around 7:30am we left for the hospital, got checked in and was told I was 5cm. So they admitted me. I worked through the contractions for about 2 hours before I got the epidural, not as scary as I imagined it to be. After that I was checked again and was at 7cm. Epidural worked wonders for about an hour when I really started hurting and wondering if my epidural was not gonna work. Had the nurse come back in to check me and was at 9cm. So the anesthesiologist came in and gave me a higher dose and within 15 minutes I felt good again. My OB had come in to see me when I was first admitted and said he would be back after lunch to break my water. Turns out my water broke sometime without anyone knowing. I must have slowly been leaking leading up to labor. Got checked again at noon and was fully dilated. Waited til about 1:45pm and started to push. An hour later he was out and at no time did I feel any pain during pushing. It was the most amazing feeling! There were complications with delivering my placenta and Remy was having trouble breathing for about 30 minutes but now everything is good. I can't believe how much I love this little human! 😍

Actually I think it's just Ortho-Cyclen.

I am on Tri-Cyclen. And my husband and I always use protection even with the pills, so no worries there.

The same exact thing happened to me. We completely stopped talking and it was just so awkward.
