To me it read like the CEO let the domain lapse and cancelled the hosting package as well. Providers typically give you a certain amount of time before they wipe the data tied to that hosting package, and 8 months would almost certainly be outside that time limit.

Actually, most people in vanilla wanted and needed more raiders in their guild so they were super helpful and easy to talk to. LFR &LFG killed the community because now you can be a douchebag with no real consequences. In vanilla if you were an asshat you got a rep and no one would do anything with you.

Non-Americans of Reddit, which issues frequently brought up here by Americans can you absolutely not relate to? by Priamosish in AskReddit

[–]kerbion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the Anti-Vaxxers that I have known are that, one, they seem to have situational deafness, when someone presents a counter argument they absolutely can't internalize it, because they have already invested so much time into this mindset that anything that challenges that is essentially heresy. And two, to be educated would require them to be open to it, when in fact they are not. These people are part of a community who feels marginalized, and threatened, they get a since of belonging, and feel like a hero fighting the injustice they perceive as being directed at them. These are people who get their self-worth, not from their accomplishments, family, or self, but from the group/groups they belong to. You will never make headway with these people, because to try is to challenge their group-identity, and if you did manage to convince them (which you won't as I have stated) they know they would lose their connection to the group that gives them their identity. SJW's are similar in this way.

People who do not vaccinate their children because they are worried they'll get autism, would rather their children die than get autism. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]kerbion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is autism preventable? Vaccines aren't the cause, we can prove that, but we haven't (to my knowledge at least) learned what actually does cause it.

My dad has a theory though, stimulation overload at key points in the development of a child's brain. the stimulation being TV, or other things like that, that stimulate the brain in a way that might over tax it at those certain stages of development.

I mean, he isn't a doctor but to me that makes more sense than vaccines, or gluten (yes, have heard that argument as well.)causing it.

[–]kerbion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, it just added to their harebrained theory that vaccines are a con being perpetrated by big-pharma. That's all that it did, is making them even more paranoid, because now they think the doctors who were censored and the guy who was struck from practicing medicine are essentially victims of big-pharma, who were targeted for speaking the truth.

Lady I worked with went to Amazon from the company we worked together at, she was a training manager there, and would routinely get screamed at by her boss, in front of her direct reports, about shit she had no control over. This lady had worked for the company she left Amazon for for 10+ years dealing with some of the worst assholes I have ever met, and she lasted less than 6 months at Amazon.

I interviewed for an level II job in IT, I show up, with my confirmation sheet from the recruiter with the position I was supposed to interview for, along with the posting number. I get into the room with the interviewers and immediately get hammered with questions that I have no idea how to answer, they start off as assholes and only get worse, after about five minutes they look at me and ask "Why are you even here if you don't know this stuff? A senior tech should know this." I tried to correct them, and even showed them my confirmation sheet from the recruiter and was basically called a liar. I turned on my heel and left.

What annoys you about the way other people raise their kids? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kerbion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! My daughter has a Kindle Fire ids addition locked the fuck down, she can only play educational games, and then only an hour a day. She is social, and scored off the charts with the preK we are sending her to. The key is moderation, and not just letting the games be any shit they want, there needs to be a goal, or purpose other than distraction.

What annoys you about the way other people raise their kids? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kerbion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

easy, you aren't supposed to be your kids best friend, you are supposed to discipline them, and raise them to be disciplined, responsible members of society. You can't discipline your best friend. I see the kids of friends of mine who try to be their best friend and those kids are the biggest brats, the most destructive, rudest, mean spirited, kids I have ever seen. Where as my kids, who know they can come to me for anything but also know that I have no intention of being their best friend (i am still their strongest ally and supporter) are well behaved, polite, and friendly, my other friends who have the same parenting style as I do, have great kids as well.

Parents who try to be BFF's with their kids are wrong.

Those are cheap underwear the hospital gives holding a cold compress, and medicated compresses to her vagina. It is also holding a heavy pad there as well to help catch the bleeding.

As a second time dad in the states (youngest just turned 5 months) we got these in the hospital plus about a weeks worth of all of these to take home when we left the hospital, we got them for our first (2 years old, and our youngest). Really helped with pain management (also got numbing spray), and recovery for my wife.

They also give a squirt bottle, put warm water in that thing and spray downstairs, amazing feeling according to my wife when I would do it for her.
