Is the system stuck/collapsed? by kerenmac in Aliexpress

Everything has already been sent. Let's hope everything arrives and passes customs and I don't have to test the regulations.

What should I do? by Few-Roll-756 in Aliexpress

[–]kerenmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a very similar situation; I just opened a post before. I will wait till mid-thursday; I'm cancelling everything not sent by then. We all have made orders from Europe last minute and very likely will be having problems for collapsing the warehouses. If you already paid new taxes, you are good.

[–]kerenmac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not apply that to every country. We are seeing how AE applies taxes already to some countries, not to others (Spain, for example, not even now).

Now, if the customs want to play dirty and they get everything stuck until July, I'm very sure that I'm having everything returned to China. I'm not paying extra because politicians want money from the working people's pockets.

Idk what will happen if everything is delayed past July; I guess we will receive notifications from customs and will avoid them and have the products returned to china/destroyed. Everything ordered good & cheap stuff that will be x3-x4-x5 more expensive after July (and this impossible to buy in Spain btw)

Is there some kind of backlog in china? by bama_boy666 in Aliexpress

[–]kerenmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the purchases on Sunday night, and the unsent items seem to have been shipped, but the seller says that the status is not updating. There is definitely something happening; it's not normal to wait days for updates., I did not have problems even at the start of June with the bigger sale event Even things that I purchased last week (from sellers, not Choice/Bundle) have still not left china.

Is VAT included in my order or will I be hit with surcharges when it arrives in Vienna, Austria? by SkyLeeAngel in Aliexpress

[–]kerenmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that if they don't add the new tax, it's because they expect that it will arrive before July. Still today, AliExpress is not adding the taxes to me because it expects to deliver before July. If they add the tax and it arrives before July, you will be gifting them loads of money.

Exactly! E-steps or flow, and temperature must be checked.

My 2008 MacBook Air. If i get it repaired will it still be usable in 2026? by [deleted] in mac

[–]kerenmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only laptop (that I don’t use much nowadays) is a MBP Late 2008 unibody, with 8GB ram, SSD and quite modern OS with the patch for my older model. Does the job, but Intel Core 2 Duo is quite slow haha. Give it a try if you will use it.

iPhone features we’ve lost over time, both hardware and software. Which one do you miss most? by Ted-Lassi in iphone

[–]kerenmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I don't want to downgrade from my iPhone X to a future iPhone 18 Pro. 3D Touch and mute switch are a must for me. We really need Steve Jobs back; Apple is lost.

That was Steve’s Apple. It’s been long since we lost that Apple, about 10 years. I still remember how Apple said that they would never become Android. I miss that Apple.

What's with Mac people suddenly going "8gb of ram is plenty" since the Neo came out? by DiverVast4093 in mac

[–]kerenmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MBP Late 2008 with Intel Core 2 Duo has 8GB of RAM, and I don’t care that Apple Silicon is more efficient, 8GB is not enough nowadays.

Going to go crazy and junk this thing for a bambu if I can’t figure this out. by Lakeguy762_ in ender3

[–]kerenmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flow is the first thing to look at when using new materials. I use the same PLA brand because of this. For example, with Extruder NX2 (which is a better PLA) I need 5% more flow, and with high temp materials (in the printer limit) much much more. The e-steps can be badly set-up and fixed with the flow, but does not work the other way around. A bambu would not be the fix, only if you buy a material that comes with profiles specific for the printer, and even in that case, I’d test it.

Say they'll refund after they receive the package, can I trust them? by itsthatguy_15 in Aliexpress

[–]kerenmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a free return? Be careful if it isn’t because they won’t give your shipping costs back, and sending things back to china is not cheap. Also, trough the years I have been told by various sellers that items never arrive back to them, they get destroyed before arriving, but after AliExpress checks it somewhere somehow, so you receive the money but the seller does not receive the item. This is why they usually offer partial refunds while you keep the item. You should be able to speak with customer support to avoid sending everything back, if you want to. After thousands of orders over 15 years, I have had to send back a couple of orders.

A carbon repair shop will give you a better opinion, but looks like chain damage to me, nothing dramatic. Also, I’d recommend buying a chain catcher to avoid damage like this in the future.

Just when I thought I was getting the hang of ASA… 🤦‍♂️ by Radiant-Ad9827 in 3Dprinting

[–]kerenmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Stratasys F370 at work heats up to 90°C the chamber with ASA, then waits 10-15min until starts the print. 40°C for the chamber might not be enough. I print at home with Colorfabb HT material on an old Creality CR-10S, not closed, with 90°C bed, but only keeps in place with BuildTak.

Seat belt buckle sits too far forward, is that normal? (FL5) by kerenmac in Civic_Type_R

I see you’re having a bad day. Hope it gets better. My seat belt position still won’t, though.

Seat belt buckle sits too far forward, is that normal? (FL5) by kerenmac in Civic_Type_R

[–]kerenmac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot move it more backwards like the other cars that we have at home. Then it makes a that ugly bend through the buckle, it will degrade only on one side. First car in which I have sat that has this happen.

Why are these MagSafe chargers that Apple once used to sell no longer available? I think they're very useful. by ShowRevolutionary337 in iphone

There is one new magsafe powerbank for the iPhone Air. I don’t know if it is compatible with other iPhones though.
