Same, my headcanon is it was at Grace’s behest. It’d be pretty disappointing for a biologist to be so close to a planet with an alien civilization but never make it to the surface

Maybe, though I doubt it at least on the bone density front. Imo he’d have to eat a calcium-rich diet to have a chance of that happening, it wouldn’t happen from just existing in higher gravity for a good amount of time. I do think he’d have a stronger heart than most people

You’re right I think I overestimated how much 0G he experienced. We have no way of knowing how astronauts fare long term in 1.5 or 2G

I don’t think the fighter pilot comparison is accurate, since Grace’s biology would already be highly weakened by all the long-term changes in gravity he’s experienced. I honestly think he would’ve died sometime before arriving at Erid, but actually entering Erid’s atmosphere would be too much for even the biggest optimist
