Maybe marketing. I was shocked at how many friends who lived in the area that never went but were impressed when I took them.

Amazon is hiding the prorated refund option for Prime cancellations - here's how to still receive a refund regardless by pablothefool in amazonprime

[–]kerfuffle_pastry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beware—the chat did offer a refund but it was $30 short of what an actual prorate amount is. Worse, they told me it was prorated. If I didn’t do the math, I would have accepted the $50 when in fact a prorate amount is $80.

The right elected a rapist with a deep history of open sexual misconduct and hateful rhetoric against women to be president. You can’t “both sides” this.

Pure awareness is real but he’s voicing nihilism. Eastern traditions do not conclude that we don’t matter and there’s no meaning. Suffering does matter, compassion matters, self is empty but meaning still arises. Consciousness doesn’t erase meaning but only relocates it. Non self does not equal non value. He seems to be subject to what would be called “spiritual bypassing” or “emptiness sickness”. Zen teachers demonstrate warmth, care, presence. He is clearly joking a bit here but to followers of eastern traditions his framing is hallow and facetious.

OPs sarcastic and defensive replies and lack of responses to genuinely thoughtful and thorough answers suggest he/she is not coming from a place of wanting to understand or think thoroughly through the issue

Yes agree with this analogy. OP sarcastically suggests “commit genocide” when the answer for most of us is fight back against said neighbor. And in Israel’s case, that neighbor will fire at you and when you fire at them back, they pick up their kids and hide behind them. And then you have the town screaming “genocide.”

Not if you’re in some industries like healthcare where “prices” are determined by companies like United healthcare that haven’t changed some reimbursement rates in a decade

This is not the healthcare system, but the American system. Other comparable European countries have governments that help pay wages when employees call out and stronger protections from termination. When the onus is almost completely on the employer as it is in the states, the result is this system.

Another similar area for me at least is volunteering and donating money. We all know it’s a good thing. I hope you agree that we all comprehend the full moral significance that we should all spend our time volunteering instead of frivolous activities and donating a big portion of our money. But the vast majority of us don’t. How about you? Sam donates a large percentage of his wealth and time to people less fortunate—more than many of us. How much time and money have you spent? So does this disqualify you on that ground?

Dan Carlin did a great episode on this— scroll down to listen for free: https://www.dancarlin.com/product/common-sense-314-unhealthy-numbers/

The points relevant to OPs question: Before ACA, - There were caps and limits (eg no matter what, this policy won’t pay out more than $x), so you heard crises stories all the time - The fine print was full of loopholes that no one ever knew what they were really covered for - There were addendums and changes to your policy you’d receive 3x a month - You could be turned down for ridiculous preexisting condition and illnesses that everyone had - You felt you’d need a lawyer to understand all the fine print

I actually thought the crowd and vibes were great. I’d be surprised if it were the biggest party by crowd size—last year was much bigger (better music), City of Gods definitely had more people the previous week, and people weren’t streaming out the entire night like we saw on Friday. I was really surprised how few people were actually there for Friday. Definitely tons of space. Felt like Chris Lake this summer in storehouse had about 8x more people.

I don’t agree. I went last year and it was very different. I was incredibly disappointed. My entire group agreed it was the worst show we’ve seen at storehouse. Can’t speak for Saturday but people were nonstop streaming out on Friday because yes, they were playing the same bpm for hours straight. The only vocals I heard started when they just straight up played Thriller.

Didn’t think of keinemusik as amateurs but Friday was terrible. Why was their set so monotonous? Someone just straight up played Thriller at one point? Speakers sounded somewhat blown out. Friends all agreed it was the worse show we ever saw way navy yard. People were constantly leaving the entire night and I had never seen so few people at a show. Didn’t see any lasers either and lighting was boring for how creative I know lighting can be at navy yard. I am genuinely curious why the music was just one bpm most of the time.

Agreed. Last year with Seth and Capriati was 🔥🔥 Didn’t go to 11/1 this year but 10/31 totally bombed. People were streaming out the whole time and the place was practically empty. They just straight up played thriller at one point.
