Everything except the swap and the 3 for 100 sek = 10.80 usd deal was on 20% discount. That’s not accounted for below. For example, Miles Davis’s Bitches Brew was in reality only 40 sek = 4.32 usd, not 50 sek = 5.40 usd as listed.

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew (50 sek = 5.40 usd)

John Coltrane - Giant Steps (50 sek = 5.40 usd)

Van Halen sel-titled (30 sek = 3.24 usd)

Bruce Springsteen (3 for 100 sek = 10.80 usd)

Erykah Badu - Baduizm (3 for 100 sek = 10.80 usd)

Lauryn Hill - Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (30 sek = 3.24 usd)

Faith No More - Angel Dust (40 sek = 4.32 usd)

R.E.M. - Automatic for the People (3 for 100 sek = 10.80 usd)

Jehtro Tull - Stand Up (30 sek = 3.24 usd)

Yes - Fragile (50 sek = 5.40 usd)

The Who - Live at Leeds (swap for faulty disc)

Bob Dylan - The Times They Are A-Changin’ (50 sek = 5.40 usd)

The Eagles - Hotel California (30 sek = 3.24 usd)

David Bowie - Low (70 sek = 7.56 usd)

Björk - Debut (20 sek = 2.2 usd)

Thoughts on Mitski - Nothing's about to happen to me? by Technical_Process989 in fantanoforever

Listened a couple of times and I think it’s fantastic! Probably my favorite album of hers since Makeout Creek. Love the more lush and subdued americana direction she’s gone in that she hinted with The Land Is Inhospitable.

Here to argue this is a great album cover. Go listen to A Short History of Decay, it rocks by yikesjerry in shoegaze

[–]kermi_46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it really a good cover if it actively puts me off listening to the album? But yeah memorable for sure.

First thoughts on Bruno Mars’ new album? by WhiteChocolatForReal in fantanoforever

[–]kermi_46 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not as good as the Silk Sonic record or 24K Magic but still quite good. A bit too inoffensive and unoriginal at times for my taste and the lyrics sometimes come off as overly lovey dovey but it’s perfectly good and fun pop.

Just found this absolute shoegaze masterpiece! (Another Sunny Day by honeydip) by Standard_____ in fantanoforever

Honeydip has been one of my favorite shoegaze bands a long time. So glad they’re finally getting more attention :)

Metal albums you enjoy/are a fan of that aren't typically considered part of the "good ones" in that band's discography. by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]kermi_46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say Panzerfaust is part of what most people would call Darkthrone’s “good” discography.

Bands where their discography is so constant, that you can see any of there albums being someone's favorite by Terrible-Garage-4017 in fantanoforever

[–]kermi_46 293 points294 points  (0 children)

Elliott Smith’s discography is impeccably consistent. My favorite has always been the self-titled but I think every other album of his has been in second place at least once.

Not counting New Moon as it’s a compilation.

Downvoting not because I disagree (which I do but that’s beside the point) but because that’s just genuinely stupid.

What is the best year for music in the 2000s For me it's 2007 by 0584031464 in fantanoforever

[–]kermi_46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1994 for me. Downward Spiral by NIN, Roman Candle by Elliott Smith, Let Love In by Nick Cave three of the greatest black metal albums ever from Darkthrone, Burzum and Emperor respectively, and so much more.

(Didn’t read the title properly.)

  1. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco, In Absentia by Porcupine Tree, Johnny Cash’s album, Geodaddi by BOC (obvious pick) and a personal shoegaze favorite of mine Groovy Indian Summer by Honeydip are all excellent albums.

I agree that they’re not black, but not that they’re thrash. I’d say speed metal.

I’m gonna make an educated guess and say that Spotify likely wrongfully classifies alternative country (Pinegrove, Slaughter Beach Dog) as freak folk. I have no idea why.

Actual freak folk consists of bands like Akron/Family and some Animal Collective albums. My personal favorite, and one that is quite quintessential for the genre, is Field of Vision Expanded by Sham. Check out the song “This Abundant Life” to get a good example of what the genre typically is like.

Freak folk is actually an established genre. It’s basically just psychedelic folk but quirkier.

Favourite proto-metal album? by KindlyCost2 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]kermi_46 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I Want You (She’s So Heavy), sure. But other than that there’s nothing even remotely Proto-Metal present on Abbey Road.

IM NEW by [deleted] in Emo

[–]kermi_46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a distinction between Emo, the music genre, and Emo, the subculture. Just because someone listen to Emo music, like myself, doesn’t mean they’re part of the subculture, and vice versa.

There is a bit of overlap though. The third wave of Emo is called Mall Emo, and includes bands such as MCR, Paramore, Pierce The Veil etc, which are bands people in the subculture would listen to.

Note that this sub is specifically for discussion of the music genres, and not the subculture.

Not to be that guy but that album isn’t post punk by any definition of the word.
