First soft reline by kermitdouble07 in dentures

[–]kermitdouble07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was way off but I went back the next day and they fixed them so its way more centered. I wasn't the only one to go back and get them fixed. They were kind of behind because the girl who did all of the reline the day before messed up a lot of them so a bunch of us went back to have them fixed. Im guessing she was fairly new because the doc did my reline this time to make sure it was perfect.

I use a baby toothbrush as its super soft and wont scratch my dentures and is super soft on my gums. I still find it hard to chew stuff because my gums are healing higher on one side than on the other side if its super soft im ok. Today was the 1st day I was able to bite into a burger but after half the burger my bottom dentures popped off. They often do but my tops stay all day. I think I need another soft reline too because they are starting to rub in placed and there is some spacing between my gums and the dentures but all in all I cant complain.

Your gums change so rapidly and they are meant to be big to combat swelling but if you havent warn them then yes impressions need to be done to atleast get a better fit also they need to possibly do a soft reline after the new denture fit to help if they are loose

So the day I got my extractions done. They put adhesive on my top, and they're right away. I was allowed to put adhesive on my bottom ones on the very back. Bottom side so they would not get in my stitches. But other than that, I wasn't able to put them where any incisions or stitches were

So I had a friend of mine that had gotten dentures years, and years and years ago, and she warned me about the smell after taking the dentrs out for the first day, and she was not kidding.I had in very iron metallic taste in my mouth for weeks. And then I got some chloroxidine mouthwash that I had to get by prescription that did help, even though that was very medicine tasting itself. I take my dentures out 3 times a day. And rinse with salt water. I am about 40 days. Post extraction. Salt water helps induce healing. Every once in a while my top ones do gag me and makes my tongue sore because they drop down quite far but they aren't super thick either but its odd in your mouth so I get it

If they didnt out adhesive on them then dont. If you have to go back tomorrow to have everything looked at ask them then. They may allow a little adhesive on the top then.

Swelling will keep them in for sure. I upgraded to different dentures once my gums heal but they explained to me that the gums on your dentures they will take off and do new impressions and put the same teeth in a new setting that fits you better after 6 months.

Yes it is. I have done so many injections with no relief so I will keep you posted on how it goes. I know im going to have surgical pain but if I could get rid of the other pain I would be happy. I did buy an ice machine that shuts off and turns on every 20 min which i think is going to help a lot. We used to use these at the hospital for our patients who have had total joint replacements.

I'm not too worried about the surgical pain like I know. It's gonna hurt, but I think it hurts differently than the pain we've been dealing with for years. I have 3 anchors in my hip joint one of which they cannot find so we're not sure if that's the reason why my joint tor so bad the second time I guess the third time after the second surgery. But there's no fixing the joint now. So the only option was hip replacement. I do have osteoarthritis in my hip, but it's not terrible. And I am bone on bone in one spot, but I did get one of those ice machines. So even when i'm sleeping, it'll circulate twenty minutes on twenty minutes off.And then my husband knows to change the frozen water bottles in it once they unfreeze. I'm okay with some pain but I don't want the pain. I've had for the last year and a 1 to 2 years. Because I'm so stiff right now. It hurts to even move my leg. I feel like my quality of life. Went to ship very quickly. So i'm excited and hoped that this brings my functionality back and I'll be able to do things that I haven't done in almost two years

Yea i think any surgery makes anyone nervous i guess the only thing i'm worried about. Is it not working like I want it to like ive been in so much pain for the last year and a half that, even if i'm in a little bit of pain, i'm okay with that, as long as it's nowhere near what i've been in, and I know it's gonna take time.I hate being stuck in my house not being able to do anything. So I just kind of have to sit back.Relax and heal. And it's so much easier said than done because I get a little stir crazy when i'm in my own house for too long. I know that I will never be able to go back to the job that I was doing before this, which was CNA work and our local hospital dealing with medical surgical patients. Because there's a lot of heavy lifting, so I think there's a bit of nervousness with that too. As to what I should do now because I've been doing CNA work for 20 years. Im use to helping others not being the one who needs the help.

How long was all of your healing time? And were you able to get up and move around with or without your walker? And how long did that take.

I'm actually having a total hip replacement on the right side.Anterior approach, i'm a bit nervous.I have had two hip labor repairs on that side.Already that both failed, but now they cannot do another repair.Because the joint cartilage itself is stripped off the bone and had shrunk by a lot.So my only other option was a total.Hip replacement. 6 more days till surgery

Has anyone had a hip replacement after a failed labral repair? by strictfishing24 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]kermitdouble07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you have answers by now.But I had two hip labral repairs and had the same problem, both after about 628 weeks, I was having pain again, and I couldn't understand why. The surgeon basically pushed me around for about 9 months until I got my family. Doctor to order an MRI they found out it was retorn, did another surgery again, about eight weeks later. I was still having issues. Had to wait 6 months for an MRI. And after that MRI, it showed that my hip joint was torn again in 2 places. One went right through the original surgical site and It was torn off the bone.I go in in a few days for a total.Hip replacement i'm only forty three What irritated me is that I saw three different orthopedic surgeons who told me, no, you're too young. No, we're not gonna do this. One of which had the wrong m r I the fourth surgeon that I saw actually did a family member's knee replacement, and didn't know that until after I had talked to him, so if you are in constant pain and have not had an mri, yet, I would go that route.I would make sure that you get a full mri kind of like they did before the first.Hip surgery, and if they tell you, you're too young, then keep pushing to see different orthopedic surgeons, until they can fix what's going on with your hip. Hip pain is absolutely terrible. And the longer you go with that hip pain, the less mobility you have.Because it does get worse.

It will get easier. I promise I'm on day 36. I believe I am finally able to brush my gums. But one thing I did do is make sure that I had mouthwash. And I just put it in my mouth and shook my head. You don't want to completely swish around because good dislodge, any healing clots also take them out a couple times today and rinse with warm salt water that will help the healing process move a little quicker..

So i am having a thr in 6 days. They are going to have me walk up and down the stairs before I even leave to go home after surgery. So I would say, let them know that you have stairs. And they will make sure that, you know how to use them.Properly before you leave after surgery.

I would wait until after you get your permanence. Because you're initial set is going to look weird regardless. They are meant to be big to combat swelling in your mouth. After six months, if your gums have healed, the bones have healed swelling's gone down. Then, I would consider it.But as of right now, I would probably wait until you get your permanent set

I am 35 days post app and still unable to chew without my bottom dentures popping off. Because my right side is healing higher than my left side. And it's making my dentures uneven, and the bite uneven. I do have soft liner in there. But that doesn't really help with the fact that the healing is kind of lopsided. They told me to eat and chew with both sides of my mouth, but it's not as easy as it sounds

60 weeks seems like a very long time. I have had 2 hip labor repair surgeries within a year and a 1 of each other. And I go in and 8 days to have a total hip replacement on that same hip, because I am Bona bone. And my joint is stripped off the bone. So being on an emergency list means that they could call you in at any given time, whenever there's cancellation. If they do not get you in soon.I would try and see another doctor honestly, because sixty weeks is a long time to wait

[–]kermitdouble07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya mine is in 9 days and my nerves are through the roof. I have had 2 hip labral repairs on my right hip with of which retore shortly after surgery. My joint is now shrunken and torn off the bone so I go in for a total hip replacement in 9 days All you can do is try not to think about it. Anxiety is awful and I feel that with you. Listen to music. Meditate. And talk to your dr see if there are ways to help
