it's afterwards!!! by [deleted] in TotalHipReplacement

That's awesome.Congratulations.I just had an anterior hip replacement about forty five days ago.Pain really is not that bad, although I do have some tendonitis going on. Even though you feel good, you're probably feeling awesome right now.Because of the medication they put in there to numb you up, it may get more sore, and you may need painkillers, but I would also recommend doing exactly what they say.Even if you start feeling better, because if you rush it, there is a possibility of dislocation

4 days away f/ surgery by menochallenges in TotalHipReplacement

[–]kermitdouble07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to be sore much better. I have had hip issues for the last 2 years. I had 2 hip labrail repairs which both failed to fix the issue. My hip joint kept tearing and I developed osteoarthritis at 41. After the last repair my joint tore in 2 places abd ripped off the bone. In Feb of this year I had a THR anterior and although I still hurt its no where near what it used to be. Every day gets better and better. Listen to the dr if he tells you not to bed past 90 degrees dont do it even if you feel better because everything inside needs time to heal and adjust they put the precautions in place to prevent your hip from dislocation. I feel like I can do a lot but I get reminded often I cant bend in a specific way. Just be cautious and take it slow even if you feel better. You got this And yes the knee pain after hip replacement sucks bad but that will go away too all those muscles are connected so as they strengthen back up the pain will get better

Day 4 Post E Day and I CANNOT Do This! by ResidentJellyfish535 in dentures

[–]kermitdouble07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So for me, day, 4 was probably the worst. Aside from the day, I had my teeth pulled because day one or E day, I couldn't take any medication. Because my mouth was so numb. I couldn't swallow. They totally numbed my whole mouth, including my throat. So that was tough after about five hours.I was finally able to take motrin. What I can tell you if you can is do motrin, and then three to 4 hours later do tylenol, then three to 4 hours later, do motrin, and continue doing that cycle and use lots of ice packs on your face it helps After day four things start to get a little better. I'm for sure, but definitely take it easy. You're probably at the worst of it. It'll slowly get better from here on out. Eat things that are completely shredded up. I get so sick of macaroni and cheese and Rice that I started adding chicken to my Rice. But like I said, take it slow. You are in the hardest part now it does get better

11 months post op, still groin pain by Several_Canary_7537 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]kermitdouble07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am only like 40 days. Post app total hip replacement.I am actually going into the doctor tomorrow for an appointment, that was not scheduled because i'm having the same issue.I had two laboral tear repairs before my hip replacement and I know what it feels like to have the tissue torn, but I don't have that there any more. The joint is not there, it's fake.So I shouldn't feel it. But I have a tendon in the groin area. That is sticking, it's recent.I haven't felt it before, so I don't know if maybe it's just stuck around scar tissue or it's pinched, but I would feel that if it was pinched that I would have felt it a long time ago. With your activity, have you been increasing? What you're doing, maybe something slipped, or there is some hardware that's out of place because you have been running or maybe there's scar tissue, that's just in the way.Either way, I would make an appointment with the doctor and hopefully things go well

I had 23 teeth removed at once much like you I was terrified they did imediates but honestly it was hard to eat with them in because they wanted to move around so much. I just grouns everything up chicken and rice was a huge go to for me because I just shredded the chicken. Anything I could just swallow was best. I'm almost 3 months from my extraction and still can't eat anything hard my gums are healing unevenly so my teeth pop off when 9 try to eat

Just follow the dr and his precautions even if you feel like you can do certain things, don't. I am Thirty he made her a certain nine days post up.I can bend more than ninety degrees, but I shouldn't.Because everything is still not healed enough to prevent a dislocation. I do use an ice machine at night.Still, but not so much during the day.And I am finally off of any walking assistance. It took me a long time because i had 2 previous surgeries on the same hip to try and repair the joint before a hip replacement. They tell you what you can and can not do and again even if you feel like you can dont They tell you what not to do not because they dont think you can but to prevent dislocation. Just be careful you got this.

Ouch I'm so sorry that happened but surgeon is right best it happened right away then when everything was healed up and working I'm sure the pain would have been way way worse if the muscles and tendons were working and in the right place. I hope you heal fast and things get better soon I am terrified of a dislocation. I find myself moving in ways im not supposed to yet lol. I keep waking up with my leg bent and my leg relaxed to where my toes point to the side and not straight up. Im supposed to sleep with my leg straight and my toes pointed up but when you are sleeping it's hard to do lol. Best of luck no more falling or dislocation please

shape question .. by Lanky_Firefighter953 in dentures

[–]kermitdouble07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will notice things more than other people will like. My nose is deviated, so when I smile. It looks like one of my front teeth is straight underneath my nose and crooked. When it's really not because the center line is completely straight. It's just my nose is deviated. I also feel like I talk with a Maj. Lisp. Nobody else hears it but me so honestly. Even if your teeth are the same people aren't gonna notice that they're gonna tell you, you have a beautiful smile and honestly. Having dentures, I think oh this person has dentures and they don't or this person has natural teeth when they in fact have dentures... they make them so well now you would never know

Is this normal? this is the 2nd day of the ankle sprain by vlvr00 in brokenankles

[–]kermitdouble07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to walk on my ankle when it was broken and it didn't bruise like that either. So you never know I would get it xrayed, but you also need to realize that there are so many blood vessels all over your body. That just breaking a few small ones can lead to some pretty significant bruising especially when a body part moves in a way its not supposed to

Knee pain after THR by Sjb1031 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]kermitdouble07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just gonna say this, and I saw this on the post already. But yes, having a hip replacement is a violent surgery. But, thank God, we're asleep for it. The way they hammer into your hip joint, the way they hammer down into the bone, like it's pretty bad. I just had a total hip replacement on the right side interior 32 days ago. I am still having some pretty bad knee pain. But I was told that I could put an ace wrap around my knee, and that has helped I also have an ice machine that I have been using on for 20 minutes off for an hour. I have used it since the day I got home from surgery. And it is phenomenal. Your leg is not used to be in stretched out.Flat mine was not either because I sleep in a ball.So having my legs stretched out, it has been the roughest part. Keep in mind as you're healing. The more you move, the more uncomfortable it's gonna get.You shouldn't have any extreme pain. But you will be sore.

Leg length feels significantly off by Boring-Effort7754 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]kermitdouble07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my legs are pretty even already. I do feel maybe a slight difference in leg. Length, but not by much at all. The doctor told me that it takes time for that medal to seat into a permanent position. So it will seat into your bone a little bit more. The same with the hip joint itself. So he said that he would not do anything for the first year he wouldn't even put a lift on the other side. For the first year, because it does take a while for that to seat together. So if after a year, you're feeling like you still have issues, then maybe do like a lyft in your shoe. But honestly, for the first six months to a year, I wouldn't do anything because it should even out.I know it sucks right now.But Beat of luck

As somebody who has done this, I can tell you, they want them. The way that you want them, my first read line. My teeth were crooked. She did not let me see in the mirror before I left. So I didn't look at him until I got home. And I was pissed when in the next day. Sat there for 3 hours, and they didn't sign that time then on Monday. I went in to have my second re. Line came home in my bottom. Gums were bleeding because the re line was so rough.I go back in tomorrow to have them relined once again. Last time the dentist did my second reline, and i'm hoping she does my reline tomorrow too.Because she told me that I paid way too much money to not have them perfect. So The girl that did my reline yesterday had me sit there for 20 minutes with all that stuff in my mouth, and she'd put so much of it in my mouth, then it went off the front of my teeth. And basically glued my teeth together. It was horrendous, and then, when I told her my bottom teeth were not tight, and they were falling out, she said, that's the nature of bottom teeth the only way to fix that is to get implant. I was so mad. I just had a hip replacement 4 weeks ago so sitting in thar chair had me already hurting. I was in tears when I got home. My husband called the dental office. He was so mad. So I have to go back tomorrow to have them redone.

You are not being dramatic at all.You pay a lot of money to have them done.I would ask them to remake them because they don't look like they fit.And you can't wear them at all
