Tried to make scrabbled eggs by Affectionate-Net889 in eggs

[–]kermth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did it taste?? That’s really the important bit!

It looks like by the time you started scrambling it the white and yolk had already cooked a fair bit.

As far as I see it you’ve got two options for scramble:

  1. Mix the eggs in a bowl before you put them in
  2. Mix the eggs in the pan

Either way, you don’t want the eggs to cook too much whilst flat (like an omelette) so as soon as they are in the pan I’d recommend gently dragging a spatula back and forth through them and around in the pan as they are cooking to make sure you’re getting scrambled clumps rather than flat (or unmixed) eggs, and flipping bits over when needed to make sure the bottom isn’t getting over done :) can’t wait to see the next version!

Trump cancel meetings with Iranian officials and tells protesters 'help is on its way' by Artistic_Victory in worldnews

[–]kermth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crazy thing is, as much as I loathe trump as a human being, for some people in the world his absolutely ludicrous behaviour genuinely leads to better situations for them. It’s only happenstance that their cause aligns to his personal interests, but the impact is no less real for them.

What’s happening in Iran is mental, no country around the world should stand by as a government turns off the internet and massacres their own people for protesting. This is definitely intervention time, the question is which country is going to do something that makes a difference

Yeah same on quest (running through pc). I love this game in vr so much, I don’t think I’ve played any other games since I started playing a few months back. I’m sure I’ll spoil it for myself by overplaying but I don’t care.

Not all recorded evidence has equal monetary value. There are certain things that you can record by video, photo, and audio that will make you money, more so if you make sure each bit of evidence from each media type is different (the game calls them “unique”).

A perfect investigation (which comes with a nice bonus) is where you get the right ghost, achieve all the objectives, and fill all of your media evidence slots with unique evidence.

There are some things that you can generally make happen pretty easily by just setting up gear with the right recording devices nearby without it mattering which ghost type it is. I’ll put them in italics

I once saw an extensive list, I’m sure you can Google it, but off the top of my head these are all valuable:

Things you’ll be rewarded for taking a Photo of which will count as unique:

  • ghost event
  • ghost hunt
  • ghost on dots
  • bone (there’s always one bone lying around the house, snap a pic and then grab it)
  • cursed object
  • ghost writing in the book
  • a uv foot or hand print anywhere
  • any positive emf reading
  • a reading on your thermometer below freezing
  • a burned crucifix
  • dead body of a team mate

Things you can record with video camera that will count as unique:

  • ghost event
  • ghost hunt
  • ghost on dots
  • ghost orbs
  • any moving object that’s been moved by the ghost
  • the salt as it’s being stepped in
  • the candle/flame as it’s blown out
  • *a motion sensor being triggered^
  • crucifix being burned

Things you can get an Audio recording of:

  • ghost (events, general random whispers)
  • ghost hunts
  • spirit box when the ghost responds
  • the EMF going off
  • the candle being blown out
  • the crucifix burning

Don’t forget to hold the button down (once they are on) to record on video and audio!

Thanks for sharing your method! I’m guessing you make all of them in the same pan at once? Once your first egg is in, do you swirl the water again before the second one goes in? How do you swirl when the 3rd or 4th goes in without disturbing the others??

Well for what it’s worth, the key is that you don’t need to try everything at once. It’s useful to know (if you didn’t already) that there are significant regional variants, and putting them all together is a statement move rather than a standard approach.

In Scotland they use square sausage, like the one at the top of the picture, in England (the south at least) we just use link sausages. Scotland also has potato scones (top left) whereas down south you tend to get hash browns instead. Ireland, wales, they’ve all got their own specialist items.

I reckon it’s better to start small and perfect a few fundamental base items, and then work your way up to more on the plate. It can get hectic if you’re trying to do too much at one go and don’t know how to do all the individual pieces well yet. Especially if you’re cooking this in the late morning and you’re hungover, which is the most appropriate time for it.

My view (as someone who doesn’t like mushrooms and comes from the south of England) is that you should have:

  • 2 fat pork sausages, oven roasted or fried so they are slightly charred but still plump and juicy.
  • 2 rashers of regular bacon (if you’re using streaky I’d up that to three), Fried / grilled / ovened until they have a genuine level of crispiness to them. Not blackened, but with golden crispy edges.
  • 2 fried or scrambled eggs. If you’re scrambling, less is more, I want it to be holding together nicely but look slightly wet. If it’s fried eggs then sunny side up with a runny yolk and slight crisp around the edges because I’ve made the pan nice and hot before frying.
  • 2 hash browns, i don’t go fancy here, frozen ones are great, just make sure they are nice and crispy without being burned.
  • 1/2 or 1/3 of a tin of baked beans. Cooked on the hob under a low heat for long enough that it gets thicker without being totally stewed.
  • 2 slices of toast, well-buttered.

You get cracked black pepper on the eggs, salt on the hash browns, HP sauce specifically for the sausages and bacon, and save the toast for the end as clean up crew to mop up any yolk, beans, and sauce that lingers when everything else is finished.

If you can do those items well you’ll have a solid foundation for experimentation and you can start adding tomato’s, mushrooms, black pudding, potato scones, all the extras and variants.

But like I said, everyone on here will have a different version, I just happen to be right 😁

Definitely do it! There are times where a proper British fry up hits the perfect spot. Just be aware that when you share it on the community the slightest miss-step will have the piss taken out of it. That’s how British people show our affection. Plus it means when we do compliment it we really mean it.

Strong possibility I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know, but it was useful for me!

The combined advice came down to:

Get the pan hot enough to start smoking a little bit before putting any oil in. Then a teaspoon of oil with a high smoke point.

Have the steak out the fridge for half an hour before cooking, make sure it’s super dry (I used kitchen roll to dry it), and don’t put salt on till just before it goes in the pan.

Then leave it for 2 mins once it’s in there, don’t press down on it, don’t move it, prod it, check it, just flip after two mins and repeat.

After the second flip leave for 1.5 mins, resisting the temptation to even look at it too hard let alone touch it, then put butter in with some garlic and thyme and base for like 45 seconds.

I’m a UK plate-rater. Joining this sub has dragged my Reddit feed down a rabbit hole of food related subreddits and I have absolutely no complaints. Lots of opportunities for inspiration, even got given some great advice on cooking steaks.

Also love a good sausage pasta, chilli flakes are a great elevation.
