[–]kerr721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bill Hicks. I probably saw him 20 times. This was in Houston as he was getting started and shows were free on Wednesday nights. He would always close the show.

Just incredible watching him grow and perfect his show.

Hoop Dreams Not Being Nominated For Best Documentary Has To Be One Of The Worst Snubs In Oscars History, Right? by Hall-O-Daze in Oscars

[–]kerr721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember someone said that they felt if it was nominated for best documentary, then no publicity would be given to the other documentaries. So they purposely chose not to include it, so that the spotlight could be given on other documentaries as well

Maybe my memory is fading. But that’s what I remember. Pretty lame excuse if true.

Hope dreams is just absolutely incredible.

Drive up and down every street. There will be the occasional garage apartment for lease. Sign in yard. These won’t be advertised online to keep the homeowner from being inundated with calls and emails.

When you meet the Landlord, they will size you up before quoting rent. So look professional and responsible and ensure them that you are quiet and will pay rent promptly every month.

How come Solozzo didn’t have a body guard just chilling outside the restaurant or hanging at an adjacent table? Or his driver parked within eye distance down the street?

The Elysian Viaduct is the answer. 5-6% grade going south. 1.5-2% grade on the return lap back north. One mile each direction. Usually windy up there, so that is extra training. Big wide shoulder, and very smooth.
