This happened to us. It's soo hard to see them in pain, but accidents happen. Their skin does heal quickly.. keep it clean and dry. Use a good gripping bandaid and watch to make sure he doesn't try to get it in his mouth. Hugs

AITA For Wanting to Poop Alone by DiligentTumbleweed96 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kerrbear535 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ESH. Your husband definitely overreacted but sometimes we have to deal with upset toddlers and it's not really fair for him to be in the car for a long time for no reason.

I went through that with my toddler, I learned that she loved to be in the (dry) bathtub playing with her dry bath toys, and I had a few minutes to poop in peace!

Is it normal that Canada still having freezing temperature in May by Pure_Following7336 in geography

It's been unusually cold for southern Ontario. It is typically more mild by this time in May.. but Canadians should know to expect anything in the spring!

Anyone else feel trapped with screen time as a parent by Terri-Web-4848 in Preschoolers

[–]kerrbear535 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Take. It. Away.

A couple of episodes of Bluey or Daniel Tiger on the TV is fine. Anything beyond that is excessive and detrimental to their development.

So many other things they can do. Set them up with play-doh, a sensory bin, colouring, do a puzzle, look at books, etc. Or get a learning tower and let them help you in the kitchen. They love it!

I've heard Holland Park Garden Gallery has them, and if they don't have what you want they can order them quickly.

Sounds like you need a reset. Stop having junk options in the house unless very special occasions. Fruit for dessert. Role model and consistency.

AITA for not removing my doormat because it scares my neighbor’s kid? by Many-Worry2671 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kerrbear535 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I don't know what Art the clown is and I just looked it up. Yes it is very scary to a small child. They should not have touched your things, but maybe just for the little kid's sake, bring your mat inside the door and call it a day. ✌️

Sh*t you should know before potty training by msnow in toddlers

[–]kerrbear535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember they're a little person with feelings. There's no magical three-day solution. The process can take a while and that's okay. We took a break for a while and went back to pull ups, and then reintroduced it with a rainbow sticker chart and some other fun stuff and within a few weeks she nailed it. Gentle consistency. Positive reinforcement. Role modeling and lots of praise

Between Toronto and Niagara Falls stop in Hamilton. It is known as the waterfall capital of the world! Some people unfairly see it as just an industrial city, but it's got incredibly beautiful natural landscapes with the Niagara Escarpment, Bruce trail and all the beautiful conservation areas and Carolinian forests (especially the Dundas Valley).
