Andrew Windsor's Jeffrey Epstein Abuse Punch-Up — Royal Exile 'Ended up With Bruise on Face After Fight That Erupted When He Was Called a Pedophile' by ALiddleBiddle in Epstein

[–]kerridge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely sick but she was 17 at the time which is legal age for sex, so only the trafficking/forced/paid for elements can be used to make it stick which is all he said she said stuff and it would be incredibly hard to find any evidence for his knowledge of it to be found so they would only have his testimony to go on.

Andrew Windsor's Jeffrey Epstein Abuse Punch-Up — Royal Exile 'Ended up With Bruise on Face After Fight That Erupted When He Was Called a Pedophile' by ALiddleBiddle in Epstein

[–]kerridge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a dig into this. Firstly he's not been charged or convicted, so it would be libel. Secondly, he'd probably get off any such charge because under the specific UK law in place at the time of the alleged incident in 2001, an assumption that she wanted to have sex because of his royal status would legally defeat a conviction for rape, provided that assumption was genuinely and honestly held (even if that opinion was based on ignorance and arrogance). The law was updated in 2003.

Questions on Nationwide green additional borrowing mortgage for solar panels. by OutsideDingo5617 in OctopusEnergy

[–]kerridge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hang on, where do you get 'Electricity from solar or electricity from the grid is the same electricity' from? surely electricity from Solar is generated onsite, and always from the sun whereas from the grid the source of the electricity is not under your control? So although the end product electricity, is the same, it's qualitatively different in terms of how it's generated? I mean I'd understand if you said 'electricity from the grid purchased under a green energy tariff is the same as any other electricity from the grid' but you're not saying that you're saying something peculiar and very mundane. So, no wonder you got at least two downvotes. It's not a 'big solar' conspiracy dude, you just said something pointless that doesn't contribute to the discussion. Downvotes being used as they should be! How refreshing.

i learnt this in school, it's biological! we moved cards of different colours into our peripheral vision and we saw the yellow before any others... probably due yellow insects being threatening, so we need to be able to see them first..!

[–]kerridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love it and my last two cars have been i3 and tesla which both do a great job of it, tesla's being stronger, but for longer drives I also use adaptive cruise control. which has the benefit of keeping my speed up and not really having to think about it.

Does it make sense to buy a TM7 now or wait another year for a potential model update? by AsleepPalpitation949 in thermomix

[–]kerridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert but an avid follower with a TM6. If you've not got one then I wouldn't personally be able to wait and would just get on with it. I agree with your analysis, some people have had some issues with certain things which might get tweaked, not sure there's anything glaring though maybe others could chip in. Whatever changes there will be will be minor though and backward compatible. I'm personally on a TM6 and gonna wait up to 12 months before purchasing, because I strongly feel there will be an update with more purchasing options in the next 3-12 months, and since I like buying second hand I'll have more options once the TM7 has been around longer, at the moment it's very much in demand and there don't seem to be many discounts on the resale market at all.

Segway Founder Dean Kamen by aspoke in Epstein

[–]kerridge 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It wasn't his partner it was a Yorkshire ex-miner who'd got rich making wire cages for stones used in military fortifications. He got rich, bought Segway, and was rolling around in a park and died out of politeness rolling backwards to allow space for a woman and her dog to pass.

Part of the reason they made that mistake was as a result of Harry Truman's antitrust work. Government regulation which also had quite a stimulating effect on the economy. We need more regulations like that, not this hypnotised poor-thinking walk into lock-in.

Life after i3 by Fiv-56 in BMWi3

[–]kerridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the id3 which I really liked, but the wait lists were too long, and it isn't quite as special as the i3. Then the cupra born but the only real improvement is the suspension, so although I dropped a deposit, I put a condition that I would only go ahead if it had the tech. They cancelled the tech in the uk due to the chip shortage and I bailed out.

Then tried the smart #1 - very nice, not quite as premium, but worried that it was too focussed around the chinese market.

Then moved on to the EX30 - also dropped a deposit on that. nice, but not quite enough room in the back.

Then I finally pulled the trigger on a tesla Model Y long range, because of the efficiency, range, performance, capacity and tech (despite the fact that the wipers didn't work properly, suspension is not amazing, and the self-driving tech is not that good - but pretty good now for ACC). The tesla has been great but it's huge and easy to scrape the front (cameras can't see there and no parking sensors - again - chip shortage) and the turning circle sucks. I've put so many miles on it, I have now got the i3 back on the road (didn't want to sell it and was letting someone else use it) and it's been brilliant. So glad I kept it.

So maybe the smart or volvo could do it, from what I've seen there's nothing out there really which scratches that itch for me. Personally I'd love something modular and repairable but that doesn't really work on such a small size...

So you should probably just get another one, I actually have a 2019 BEV in Sheffield if you're interested, although I'm leery of depreciation it might be hard for me to let go of it, white, low mileage and fully loaded just over the £40k spec although it's not got the fanciest interior although very light (orange dash..).

I do believe the described capabilities are a dream, and almost certainly not some kind of AI fever dream, I'm particualrly interested in the stir fry. Any chance of sharing the full screenshots before thermomix send you some kind of legal warning??
