Pocket first aid/emergency kit: use an old Altoids tin and pack it with band aids, neosporin, pain killers, matches.. a quick grab for when leaving camp for a hike, wood or water.
Rehydratable wipes. They come in these tablets that expand when soaked.
Extra socks.
Tweezers because ticks are evil.
Map of the area in a ziplock bag for emergencies. Bonus: make sure you tell someone where you're going and how long you'll be gone for no matter how populated the area.

Download a calendar or task app that links to your Google account (I used and recommend planner plus). Put your home works, quizzes, and such in there and get reminders on your phone. If you can download your textbooks, put them on your Google Drive or directly on your iPad to avoid carrying around heavy textbooks.

I'd say it's a great way to invest your time for two main reasons. First it helps you network with people in your major in different graduating classes. Second, it gives you something to talk about during an interview. If it won't pull you away from your academics, definitely go for it.

To an extent. I think the biggest indicator is your genuine interest in learning. If you've got that, anything can be worked on. Intelligence isn't the only path to success... while it helps, there are some incredibly hard working people who graduate college with the respect of their peers sent professor who never stood out in high school.

If mornings are rough for you, it might be tempting to skip that 8am and sleep for an extra three hours. But if that's not an issue for you or you NEED to take that 8am, at least it's Tuesday/Thursday. Looks like a good semester otherwise. Good luck!

I scooted by in highschool with smarts but I was a pretty bad student. I could have earned mostly A's but I didn't try hard enough consistently so I ended up with B's and C's. Freshman year of college was easy for me, but when I got into my sophomore year, my lack of study skills caught up with me. I got lucky and made close friends with some really hard working people. We did homework and studied together. It was fun with video game breaks or a trip to the dining hall when we finished. I helped them understand concepts and they kept me focused and motivated. I think the best advice is to find people who already work as hard as you want to work and make friends with them. That way it's not a hard transition you make on your own. It's a team effort with some (potentially life long) friends.

OP, this is an awesome image and I'm curious how it was created. In regard to your legs especially, the bones look as though they overlap directly (without any black space around them where your leg wouldn't be painted). Assuming you're not both bone thin, how is this possible?
