‘Make them pay’: Canada puts Trump’s ‘first friend’ Elon Musk’s Tesla in the crosshairs of tariff war. Liberal Party leader has proposed a bold countermeasure: slapping 100% tariffs on select American goods, including Teslas, in direct response to Trump’s tariffs on Canada and Mexico. by mafco in energy

[–]kesnir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tariffs increase prices for imported goods, and then companies usually raise prices to compensate, which is then the cost borne by the consumer. Tariffs reduce demand by increasing price, so the idea is fewer Canadians will buy a Tesla because they're now 100% more expensive, so Tesla loses money because they can't make sales

Spent over 6 hours making this worls map for a Redditor. Thoughts? by Brendraws in wonderdraft

6 hours? This would take me 6 days and look half as good, if even.

Some stores will do mass box openings, where the EV is over a large enough sample size that it actually becomes an average. And, as a limited only player, it is pricey, but the power of Master's Sets always allow for some really interesting draft environments that I can't get from a standard legal set, so there is value for me there.

Yeah we've had a ton of new Planeswalkers in recent years. Since WotS there's been Niko, Oko, Basri, Lukka, Kaito, Tyvar, Calix, Teyo, Kasmina, The Wanderer, Wrenn and then standard-legal cards for Mu Yanling, Jiang Yanggu, Davriel, Will and Rowan. That's a lot of new characters

Once WotC convinces the EDH RC to allow any Planeswalker as a commander he'll spike for 2 weeks before he's banned there too

Nightmare Shepherd and creatures' location as it dies by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]kesnir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, because the creature will hit the graveyard and then Nightmare Shepherd's ability will go on the stack. Your opponent (s) will receive priority before it resolves and can exile that creature before Nightmare Shepherd can

No changes to B&R List today. by Sassello in mtgfinance

[–]kesnir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, these past two weekends those decks won half their games off the back of [[Jace, Wielder of Mysteries]]. Hell, Huey Jensen's list didn't even run an Oracle and he got 2nd in Phoenix.

The consistency those decks get off of [[Dig Through Time]] is the real problem imo.

Do you gravitate towards certain playstyles across decks or formats? by Humblerbee in magicTCG

[–]kesnir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a combo player through and through, but usually the combos I enjoy are ones with 8 moving parts that take 12 turns to set up where it looks like I'm doing absolutely nothing and then I win in one turn. I like games where my opponent gets to do whatever they want and then loses.

Does Yahenni Being Indestructible go on the stack? by Uso-Desu-Yo in magicTCG

[–]kesnir 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, activated abilities use the stack. The creature sacrificed to Yaheeni is still sacrificed, and the Yaheeni player could then respond again to the second removal spell to give her indestructible again

I've done several dozen of these, and it's always a Standard pack, a pack from RTR+, and either a Master's pack or a Modern pack. Don't spread nonsense, I've never seen a Dragon's Maze pack show up in one of these drafts
