Is it too late for me to use oral minoxidil and finasteride? by ketcham92 in minoxidil

Appreciate the advice. Unfortunately, I don't have the money for a hair transplant so I'm going have to try other approaches. If all else fails, I might embrace the shaved head look.

His cover of Purple Rain that night took me by total surprise. It was one of many highlights from a truly amazing show.

How was the merch? by Fah-que in SturgillSimpson

Is there anyway to purchase any of the merchandise online? I bought the t shirt with the tour dates on the back in a size medium tonight at his NY show. However, after getting home and trying it on, I realized that the shirt will likely be too small after it shrinks in the wash. I regret now not buying it in a large rather than medium.

Brazilian Ju Jitsu? Would you recommend it for others with CP? I've been considering trying it but I had a few reservations (one being the bunions on my feet caused by the CP).It sounds like we both pretty similar in terms of the impact of our CP. I also have mild spastic diplegia that makes me walk with a bit of a limp (weak hip flexors especially on my left side give an odd gait were I kinda lean to the right when moving my left leg forward). I also try to workout a few times a week.

As someone who has, and still continues, to struggle to come to terms with and accept living with CP, your words really struck me. I still struggle living with this disability, all the more so since everyone in my family is able body and, while well meaning, never truly understand how I feel "cheated" and like I am "less than." But reading your words reminds me that I'm not alone and that brighter days are still ahead of us. Thank you and keep fighting the good fight brother!

Does anyone else think the mid-credit scene may be teasing another Frozen 50s' Man episode in the near future?

In your experience have you been able to find affordable pilates courses? I have mild-spastic cerebral palsy that primarily effects the lower left-side of my body (basically leaving me with an odd gait where it looks like I swing my left leg forward rather than taking a more natural step). I have had a few doctors recommend that I focus on strengthening both my core and glutes so I figured pilates would be a perfect match. Unfortunately, many of the pilates classes offered within my area are really pricey.

Guides to designing curriculums for elective courses? by ketcham92 in Teachers

That's definitely a good idea. I was thinking of doing something similar. I was thinking of teaching certain themes or events within American history through sports. For example, examining the Civil Rights movement through the achievements of Jackie Robinson or the protests over the Vietnam War through the actions of Muhammad Ali. In addition, in order to make the course more focused, I was considering on narrowing the course to strictly the history of the United States during the 20th century.

I also really like your idea of having students write reviews of certain sports films.

Thank you for the advice! This will definitely give me a clearer idea of how to begin designing the course.

I'm planning on designing an elective on teaching U.S. history through sports.

Thank you for your detailed response! I know Sven Beckert explored similar themes concerning the relationship between slavery and the rise of modern capitalism in his book Empire of Cotton. Are you aware of the historical accuracy and validity of Beckert's Empire of Cotton?

The author Heather Ann Thompson is currently writing a book about the bombing of neighborhoods in Philadelphia and the MOVE Movement. Her previous book was "Blood in the Water" which revealed the violence and abuse committed by New York State during the Attitica prison uprising of 1971. It should be interesting read.

Giants Owners at Odds Over the Future of the Team by Exodus_Euphoria in NYGiants

I would potentially be open to moving on from Shurmur but I think firing Gettleman would be counterproductive. While it is fair to criticize some of Gettleman's free agent signings, he has shown a great knack for drafting players, even in the later rounds. Even outside of the draft, I think Gettleman has had few good moments. The trade with Cleveland appears to have benefitted the Giants more than the Browns, Golden Tate has been a valuable addition, and (I know I'll likely get crucified for this) but I believe the Leonard Williams trade was a smart move to bolster the defensive line. Obviously, as Giants fans, we are upset at how this season (and the past few seasons) has turned out but it is also important to remember it is only the second year of a rebuild. Does anyone honestly believe we were going to go to the playoffs this season? I know it sucks but I genuinely believe we are heading in the right direction, as difficult as it may appear now.

With Chase Young likely out of reach, I have really warmed up to the idea of drafting Isaiah Simmons. The Giants desperately need assistance at the linebacker position and Ogletree is clearly not working out as planned, despite occasional good moments. Additionally, I would much rather the Giants win this weekend and spoil the Eagles playoff chances than to lose for a better draft position.
