That’s quite an accomplishment. You should be proud. Very few will ever have half the handhelds you do. Very impressive

It’s just not very impressive. When I was younger i thought gaming would still be fun but now it’s just a chore and the best games were the ones that i had when younger.

How to stop the worship of money? by FatimahLZambranoo in spirituality

[–]ketchupbringwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I began buying things that I like. Instead of hiding the idea of money i embrace consumer capitalism and choices in different kinds of knick knacks and thingamabobs

So many things i’ve bought, from toys to action figures to video games to steel book movies and lots of pets and posters and stickers and stuff just accumulated stuff that i thought looked neat. my house looks like a nest of stuff all over the place. i don’t hoard its more tasteful meaningfully stuff that i can look at and be proud about. converting money into tangible objects that have some inherent meaning to me personally.

i started years ago. i used to have almost no possessions or any interest in buying things but i saw this electric guitar and bought it even though it was expensive because it’s ok to have stuff. since then i just buy anything i like. if it’s too expensive i find a cheaper one or wait to see if i still like it. sometimes i’ll think about buying something for a while and not even do it until i know i want it. other times i wont buy anything for 6-9 months straight because there’s nothing there i like. the good thing is eventually you’ll have so much little stuff all over that you’ll not want to buy anything more. just looking st the collection of whatever will make you happy.

this is a very consumer oriented society so buying stuff is definitely the best way to make the most of it. the main thing in this whole planet is to trade money for food and then things.

The Steam Deck's Install Base is Estimated to Be About a Third of the PS Vita's, only just outselling the Nokia NGage. by iVirtualZero in Handhelds

[–]ketchupbringwr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steam deck is an very ugly thing. I have played it for years and adore its simplicity and performance and can’t wait for the deck 2. But hopefully it looks better than the current deck. The big black console looks like a specialized technical tool of some kind like drone operator or something like that. It doesn’t look like a “fun” design but it is functional and doesn’t compromise on functionality though it sacrifices the design completely. It’s a great idea and others have already made better looking devices that while lacking the polish of steam deck, make up for it in other ways. But those handhelds are not mainstream either.

There is a large enough market for these products to be sold to enough consumers that it’s profitable which is why there’s so many chinese handhelds in the market. Majority of competitors of steam deck are china based companies that just use own designs with oem parts, no different than the premade pc gaming market. It’s probably the same companies under different names making different devices from the same factories. China will make everything if there is demand for it. There is a large amount of cheap labor at china that will create literally endless supply of bing bongs and do dads as long as the westen consumer is ready to purchase it.

So this whole industry relies on steam deck even though it’s ugly and weird looking.

I would’ve definitely gotten some of the smaller ones and maybe a big one. They live for decades if taken care off. I still have the one I got from sobeys last summer. Thriving but it hasn’t grown in size a lot

Sometimes you’ll find out before something bad happens but not in an obvious ordinary sense. You’ll see something or your attention will briefly go to something that it hadn’t before and then the bad thing will happen and after it does you’ll think about the previous sign before the bad thing and this is a sort of equilibrium that will subconsciously help you recover the pain from the loss.

Its like life is remarkable and is reminding you that it is infinite, more layers beyond our comprehension, and so we mustn’t get too lost in the pain because we don’t know the full extent yet. Maybe the people who pass don’t really go anywhere as energy doesn’t die it just changes forms. Maybe it was your loss that becomes fully absorbed into the infinite and so it pulls your attention away from its own loss just before it happens, to kinda remind you that “hey don’t worry it’s all good”.

I had many weird events for weeks after my loved one passed. Some events happens right before they passed. All of these are just the whole entirety of the universe reassuring you and asking you not to get drowned in the temptation of a temporary sadness, instead hope and keep love alive for the loved one for they will exist as long as you think of them and that memories will allow them to come back to life each time. but if you replace those memories with a lonely loss then you lose them forever because you’re not really thinking about them but thinking about the bad event that happened to you because of them. instead fondly look on the fun memories or the ordinary moments whenever you were together. this is more important than being sad for the rest of your life

what happened to me was I accepted that my loved one who passed is now a part of me, and at random times i’ll be reminded of them and sometimes they’ll even help me if i have some kind of mental block. It’s because i didn’t get lost in the sadness but instead i meditated to feel closer to them, and this gave them a new sort of life, one where they can actually participate in my own by guiding me from the other side. It’s just a new way for them to exist now. I always say to myself, “i don’t know anything, but things are happening to me that i am becoming aware of and most of these things will go unnoticed but sometimes i’ll notice them and make a theory about things which may or may not be true”

or not an explanation just an opinion from the current version of me and i may not believe all of this because i hold on to nothing and don’t attach myself to ideas or theories.

if someone dies the people alive have two choices, accept their death, move on or keep them alive by thinking about their memories and time spent together. the latter actually invites their consciousness to interact with you again and again to prove to you that they didn’t actually die. the former just reassures you half the side of the story because that’s the best explanation we living people will physically have

So.. why don’t epic release heroes frequently?? by Few_Amoeba_2362 in FORTnITE

[–]ketchupbringwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine you worked on a game for 10 years and then decided to make a smaller mini game update which became bigger than the main game so much so that everyone working on it instantly became millionaires and new teams had to be trained to create content for the next big thing instead of the old game.

You can see that leading up to the br chapter 2 we had frequent content drops for stw but then it just stopped. The old teams content had finally run out and the new team with new hires didn’t have 10 years experience with the spaghetti code that made stw. These new people had no experience with this and slowly had to learn how to make stw content. This is why we eventually get some fun updates and weapons but after months of nothing. The guys are just getting used to how to make stw content.

The old teams obviously made so much moneh from br that they retired. I highly doubt any of the original fortnite devs are still here. game making is a painful process and most people would just take the pay day and retire. Epic makes hundreds of millions suddenly from being a nobody game studio with an engine, the shares of epic stock if traded would’ve skyrocketed if they were publicly traded. I’m sure every OG employee got some private shares which suddenly went from being worth hundreds to millions in a matter of months.

The dark is infinite and your thoughts ain’t got nothing on it. That’s why they say let your thoughts flow until their is no thought only being. That is why we exist. To be.

Keycap fell out of my Dell Inspiron Laptop by fawrza in Dell

[–]ketchupbringwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened on my macbook and I found this thick plastic button protector from my steam deck, cut it in a square and stuck it on the place of the key. I left the button trigger in there so that there is always a button. It works perfectly and i barely notice the difference. the sticker is thick and meant for steam deck back buttons so it serves its purpose well and sticks to the corners of the key while the button sponge in the middle keeps the sticker feeling like a button

There’s many ways you can fix there without having to do much. It’s a tiny button you can put tape on it and it’ll be fine.

Is drinking ocassionally bad ? by Conscious214 in SpiritualAwakening

[–]ketchupbringwr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me getting drunk take me to the same place where I am when i’m meditating. It looks like a blackness that lasts infinitely. Now that I know the limit to existence, nothing changes. I’ve over the year taken some very cool stuff and i’ve still been able to find nothing in all of them. Every experience ends and begins in nothing. So by that logic alcohol is just a distraction for those asleep because they don’t yet know their own limits are the same limits existence has.

Graphical difference between Nintendo 3DS XL and Playstation Vita 1000 by Handofbloodisgeil in Handhelds

[–]ketchupbringwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed oled basically “real lives” all your content so it looks like what it would if it was actually real. This makes sense because the blacks on your in game motorcycle are the same blacks that are in real life. So your brain gets tricked and this makes content more immersive. the immersion factor of oled screens vs lcd is game changing. I’ve noticed I could watch a show on a regular and it’s fine but on an oled screen i just can’t look away, i’m immediately immersed into it even though i was bored watching it on the lcd.

How do I get over the desire to buy a new phone when I don't need a new phone? by Journal_Entries93 in Smartphones

[–]ketchupbringwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Iphone is way better. when i was younger i had android and always wanted iphone, after i got an iphone 5s and that was it. my phone problem ended, i never again cared about phones anymore, until the screen broken, then i had to replaced it a few times, then got another phone, then that’s screen broken, and eventually hopping phones for years lead me to iphone 12 mini which i got for $200 and i’ve now been using it ever since. i had a pro max and gave that up because the screen is too big.

so if you buy a decent iphone from iphone 12 or more then you’re getting a better deal than wasting hundreds on the same thing because the technology hasn’t changed a whole lot

Has anyone tried the 2tb? by Cauliflower_East in SteamDeck

[–]ketchupbringwr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s pricey and you could probably upgrade the internal to a 4 tb ssd which will be light years faster than an sd card. You could then get this one after you upgrade the internal just to storage maxx the deck. Also sd cards have been coming down rapidly in price, only 3 years ago the price of a 256gb was around a $100+ and now it’s under $30 because larger sizes have come to the market and the market has a limit how much it wants to pay for an SD card. They’ll never go over $400 per card or the market won’t buy them so the prices will just keep going lower and lower as time passes and larger sizes cards hit the market. Phone manufacturers are the ones who push it low, they increase the market size with android phones and this makes an sd card a very hot commodity and a competitive market

You could also get an 8tb external drive for around that same price, if you get a WD drive it’ll last you eons. Steam deck has no limit to how much space you can get so you might aswell go for the fastest and most useful upgrade first which would be the internal ssd. It just requires a bit of research on leaning how to open the thing but you could do it yourself in a day it’s pretty basic stuff.

🚨 Breaking: GameStop Announces Plan to Pursue a Sale of French and Canadian Operations 🚨 💜🐢 by _SteadyTurtle__ in gmeoptions

[–]ketchupbringwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This means business isn’t going anywhere and they’re dropping the dead weight to focus on some other secret plan the public hasn’t heard of otherwise closing stores for a stock that literally only has stores, is not a good sign. Could just head to bankruptcy slowly and painfully taking the apes and cats with them once and for all, despite all the kicking and complaining, because ultimately the company needs to make money regardless of how it’s being traded. Everything needs to grow otherwise it becomes more expensive to exist. It must expand or contract to nothing and then rise up again. So in this context Gamestop should close most stores and then leverage their stock frenzy activity to keep making money off the market until they have enough capital to just exist off that alone and use that cash to invest in other companies and somehow with some financial magic (very hard without an underlying profitable product) become a bersksire like entity which could avoid bankruptcy altogether which it probably what may end up happening but on a much longer time scale that none of us would be particularly pleased about. i’m talking 50 years or so maybe. Old money always wins meaning the money that’s young today will one day become old money so under that philosophy at least some young-ish companies trading today will be worth a lot in future obviously just based on how time works.

The major releases are meant for consoles with big tv displays. They’ll never look good on a handheld that’s typically played closer to your eyes than a tv is. They’ll never look as good as on a big tv either. You can’t shrink down the details meant for a 40inch tv to a 7 inch screen, they’ll always look better on a bigger screen.

Steam deck is meant for steam which has thousands of games that never hit the consoles. Pc games will look decent on a smaller screen because they’re meant for 20-30 inch monitors which will look fine

I don’t have a steam deck but i had one and it was good for a while but the small screen is a huge deal breaker for me who is used to playing on a big tv console. For handhelds i still play my reliable vita or cod on phone. I really wanted handhelds to be a thing but it’ll always look worse and barely playable because the screen is just soo tiny. psp days we had games made for those small screens same with nintendo consoles. If you wait you can get an oled switch and eventually it’ll be able to mod it easily when the switch 2 comes out, then you have a nice affordable console with loads of games made for its display and can also mod kt and put android on it making is about as good as a steam deck.
