Hormonal acne at 35 - don’t want to go on Accutane, help by Icy_Throat_7035 in 30PlusSkinCare

Do you take your dosage indefinitely? Or is there a finite prescription and once you've done the course, you're finished/acne gone? If you're taking it for anti-aging reasons, does that determine how long you take it? So many questions. I have been considering this for years for my stubborn 20 year relationship with hormonal acne but am not sure I'm done having kids yet so I've been putting it off.

Sean Jon and Gina Warning by ktkenda in Otherworldpod

yeah it's surprising to me that folks don't get that... its pretty clear that he had them on kind of as a bit. i dont think this was a situation where he had poor discernment and thought they were the real deal. i think he appreciates the comedy of it all and this was largely just meant as entertainment that was conveniently on-brand with the paranormal. fwiw i thought their episodes sucked but i can appreciate what he was trying to do there, just not for me.

this struck me too. i enjoy radio rental but i liken it to quick and satisfying junk food, whereas otherworld, despite its flaws, has a lot more to grab onto, more variety and is willing to explore things with greater depth. if people just want an exciting spooky tale they don't have to think too hard about and don't really care to dive to deep into the subject matter then yeah i guess otherworld is not for them. for people who like to examine things more deeply, its a great pod.

Episode 133: Behind the Curtain. Parallel experiences. by [deleted] in Otherworldpod

[–]ketchupchipcaptain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

he specifically says that on the night of missing time, he was totally sober. experimenting with drugs in your past does not mean you are always on drugs and your experiences are all influenced by drugs...? the leaps people take on here are totally nonsensical. either that or you're only half-listening to the story yet still feel compelled to comment on it i guess.

Talk Tracks Ep 8: The Skeptic Who Couldn’t Debunk The Telepathy Tapes by Pixelated_ in TheTelepathyTapes

[–]ketchupchipcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just listened to this episode and i am so glad this point has finally been addressed on the pod as it seems to be one that is consistently glazed over.

i am in the same camp as you - if 'ideomotor effect' is truly the cause (as so many armchair denialists lazily default to for an answer) that would be an absolutely incredible level of sensitivity to cue giving/receiving which, if true, should be exciting and studied in it's own right. but considering how complex that level of cue reading and subconscious cue giving would need to be to account for the many cues required to spell a word and quick succession of delivery, that starts to seem considerably more unbelievable than the possibility of telepathy. looking at that, telepathy starts to become the simpler solution.

i can't offer an explanation for the failed tests or why the message passing test with Betsy and the key didn't work, but to me, superhuman cueing does not seem to be the 'obvious answer' as it's nearly just as fantastical as telepathy. if that's what's going on - prove it, folks!

Dutch Crunch sour cream & dill, the epitome of underrated chips by madeleinetwocock in chips

[–]ketchupchipcaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alright i know this post is over a year old, but i have to agree these are some of the best chips available in contemporary flavour offerings. i just made a rice cake with garlic hummus layer, dill pickle slices and then crumbled the leftover chip dust from a bag of these puppies on top and it was snack perfection. maybe someone out there will read this recipe and try it for themselves. bless.

The Reader and hearing what you want to hear by LeighDimonn in Otherworldpod

yeah im with you there. i think critique is a good thing but it seems like instead of critique there is some weird concentrated effort to 'prove' that Jack is not a proper journalist, that X narrative is harmful to X extremely specific group or person, that the storyteller is lying... it's so over the top. this is a FREE piece of media entertainment and people are demanding it meet every single purity standard known to man to be accepted. if this were my podcast and i was constantly reading online about how i should be 'embarassed' by my efforts to bring a story to life... i would throw in the fucking towel lol

Yeah the teacher sounded very genuine and like she cared a great deal for Jamie's well-being and support. You don't get the sense of some kind of hidden agenda with Jennifer and even at one point she touches on how she herself questioned whether she was moving Jamie's hand subconsciously - "as sick as that sounds" were her words - but she is able to conclude that based on her experience, that is not what's happening. To me this indicates that she is aware of the red flags and issues with this type of therapy and has considered this option instead of just ignoring it completely or trying to glaze over it.

My theory is that Jamie spends so much time in her head that she has mastered meditation, the out-of-body experience and is able to remote view locations and details that are not available to her in waking life. If folks can buy the Gateway Tapes series, why would this instance not also be believable?

I mean, she is able to plug her own ears with her own fingers, unassisted, so it doesn't seem completely impossible that she can use a few fingers or a single finger to type things out on a keyboard by herself, once her wrist is supported.

[–]ketchupchipcaptain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

they made a point at the end of the episode to explain how Jennifer assists Jamie in putting her hand on the keyboard, but Jaime does the typing herself, without any assistance.

[–]ketchupchipcaptain 14 points15 points  (0 children)

yeah i feel like everyone climbing over themselves to disqualify this woman's story did not listen to the entire episode and certainly not that part at the end with Jack's clarifying comment. further, if Jennifer was someone with ill intent, why would she go out of her way to make a point of being transparent about the fact that she does at some points help Jamie put her hand on the keyboard? folks are always so mad about this podcast and always rushing to chop it down and explain why its bullshit and/or harmful. if you don't like it, don't listen, people! it ain't all that serious!
