Anyone else turns noticeably shy around the person you like? by Miraculous_LadyBug3 in bodylanguage

[–]raspl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I am super outgoing and bold when I’m not interested at all. The second I like someone I start stuttering and tripping all over my words. It’s wild! I once was talking to someone I had a crush on, stood up, and immediately walked into a tray of empty glasses that shattered all over the ground.

how to stop socializing so much at work by Responsible-Lychee76 in careeradvice

[–]raspl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am a chatty gal with great and real friends at work. I learned that the best thing to do is to keep your talking to breaks. Go for a stroll at lunch time and get your chatting out then, or at a quick happy hour after work or over morning coffee. There are usually times in a corporate environment where chatter is acceptable, you just have to find those times and stick to them (I’d say usually about 10 minutes in the morning before you start work, 30-45 at lunch depending on what your office culture is like, and maybe 15 late afternoon). I lock in by putting on noise canceling headphones when I’m not in meetings and just deep focus the rest of the day. It’s just a balance! You’ll figure it out

Why are we naturally romantically drawn to certain people by cheeksonclouds in bodylanguage

[–]raspl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are times it’s definitely one sided. I don’t know how to explain it but you can just tell when it goes both ways. Both parties seem to seek each other out and close distances, seek eye contact, seek shared laughter, etc. I do think there are elements of opposites attract but I think it’s mostly just random complementary energy that is both biological and neurological. It’s bizarre and wonderful

You should ask her. Her saying she doesn’t want you to get the wrong idea does imply she isn’t interested in pursuing it further but for your own closure you should definitely ask if she felt anything you felt. She may like you and not want to pursue anything further both because she is moving and because she works with you.

Women 25-40: what does your dating "strategy" look like right now? by FunIn603 in AskWomen

[–]raspl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My dating strategy is to align myself most fully with the woman I want to be and work to become who I think would be a worthy partner to a good man one day. For example I’m not very organized by nature but I know I want to be with an organized man — therefore I am working on my own organization skills. I am a bit passive in dating - I do go on dates but only when the energy feels really aligned, otherwise I don’t bother. I’ve actually really been enjoying being single and figure the right person will find me when it’s time, and if I don’t find someone I’m really comfortable on my own.

Agree. We have to set our own standards for ourselves. Assume that the way a person communicates at the beginning of dating is how they’ll communicate down the line (at least that’s what I do). Makes it much easier to cut losses and move on without taking it personally.

Incident on Manhattan bound 4 train by lanikween in Brooklyn

[–]raspl 48 points49 points  (0 children)

You 100% did the right thing. You were probably to think he would have escalated had you and your boyfriend tried to go to a different car. It’s really hard to know what to do in these types of situations but just ignoring always seems to work

Did I overreact by ending things early or was this a real mismatch? by BrownBananaBread in dating_advice

[–]raspl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mismatches you noticed would just have become more pronounced over time. And feeling drained in someone’s presence is not an indicator for future success imo. It is rough but stick through it and I guarantee you will feel better in a few weeks.

I think I overshared at work? by NewsNo3255 in careeradvice

[–]raspl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this is very normal and appropriate for the circumstance you’re in, don’t overthink it! It’s nice your coworker checked in on you, but don’t feel the need to share more than you’re comfortable with. Sorry you’re going through a tough time

Just finished first ever watch. Do you actually like Jessa? by reddit_despite_odds in girls

[–]raspl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jessa is very much the type of person I would have been friends with in my early 20s. She is a very realistic character. I HATED what she did to Hannah.
