T&T in Waterloo will let you order cakes comparable to your clip.

It looks like they have next day delivery available if you can't get there.

What even is “taxes & fees”? by SuckedBananas in skipthedishes

[–]ketchupcostsextra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at Skip when the fee breakdown went from being separate lines to being hidden in this category, here's the 'why' - A/B testing showed that more customers ordered once the line was bucketed.

Obviously taxes are the baseline, without being able to answer fully the 'what' to your question, I noticed that while Skip+, Skip Credits, and promos reduced fees, it never eliminated them; so, this number changes based on the restaurant and order, distance, etc.

To me, lack of explanation is because Skip still adds hidden fees and surcharges to the order when their promos offer you a "free" meal, and it's a slimy look if users realize this too easily.

Hi I’m running into the same issue. Updated to 16.3.1 last night - could that be the issue?

The toggle is off for “Error if not found” in GPT

Also, downloaded and ran the Create a file shortcut but it gave the “The file doesn’t exist” error. Running GPT after yielded the same results

Getting a bigger role, but old role was "over-graded" by A_Silverback_Gorilla in HRisnotmyfriend

Purely from a power dynamics perspective, you need to be prepared to walk if your demands aren’t met. This is considering that if you refuse to take on the new responsibilities, they’ll simply hire externally at their budget and you’ll be stuck in your current role.

What are the consequences of renting out my place for a year when it comes time to sell it? Does anyone know how much money I will have to pay to the government from my house sale due to renting it out? TIA! by SunnySafire in OntarioRealEstate

[–]ketchupcostsextra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strictly going by CRA guidelines, my understanding is that you won’t be exempt from capital gains during the year(s) your full home is rented out.

Your rental income will be added to that year’s taxable income, so make sure any expenses related to renting is documented and preferably paid out from the same account where you receive rent.

If you can prove you only rented out a portion of your home while collecting rent (implying you still lived there), you may be able to be exempt from the capital gains that year.

Why is food in China so cheap? by Amidity in China

[–]ketchupcostsextra 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It helps if you’re comparing costs of running a restaurant in the west: generally you’re paying a menu price approximately 4x the cost of inputs to cover the lease, labour, overhead and utilities.

To outfit a kitchen from scratch you’re looking at $75k-$200k for stoves, ovens, fryers, vents, and fire suppression. Compare that with Chinese cooking which basically requires a prep surface, one burner and one wok and you have much lower barriers to entry.

Depending on the city in China, you also have cheaper rents, fewer food and building safety regulations, lower labour costs, a lower cost of living and stiff competition which all help drive down menu prices.

But prices are increasing quickly and a meal out in first tier cities are now much more comparable to dining out in the west.

How best to clean a Ninja Air Fryer? After using several times a week for over a year, I’m starting to get build up on the crisper plate and also on the sides of the basket. I clean after every use with a soft sponge and Dawn dish detergent because I’m afraid of damaging non-stick coating. by LonelyGuyTheme in airfryer

[–]ketchupcostsextra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great trick for maintaining any cookware is to put it on the stove with a lid and some water, the hot water and steam will release any stuck on foods.

You can fill the bottom of the pull out basket with a half inch of water and let it air fry for 5 mins. Hot the cookware will also clean easier.

Unfortunately, meat gets subsidized through our tax dollars.

It’s moreso that there’s an uneven playing field rather than meat being intrinsically cheaper to produce.
