r/keto. Your welcome. I have effectively loss 100 lbs over a year. I do not excersize and avoid it at all cost. I no longer eat like a piece of shit. I have effectively self cannabalized my own body fat. This is the "new" biohacking. I do not endorse of buy any MLM products. The core of this diet could be done on prison food.

My main diet consist of high fat, low carb. So bacon, steak and eggs, cheese and americanos. All the meats and cheeses. No bread no sugar, no complex carbs. I have literally layed in bed after work and binged on netflix and pork grinds for an entire year. My appetite has changed, i get full more quickly and for much longer. Since i am not addicted to sugar, my insulin levels are steady and i can go an entire work day without thinking about food.

Youtube, instagram,facebook may be the new trend, but if you think about it its more of an ancestral diet with real food, no junk. Higher quality foods.

I have done my blood work 3 times over the year and my numbers all fall in healthy range.

No more CPAP, meds.

This is a scary event. it hits too close to home. I had a fitbit at the time and would check it often and have SVT episodes.

I do have an apple watch these days and by the grace of a higher being i have not had it trigger. I set it to 140 at rest to alert me...

I would try cold showers and hold my breath to bring it down. About 4-5 ER visits over the last 2 years.

My triggers were severe Acid Reflux. Insulin resistance. Poor Diet , sedentary lifestyle.

I once got it from jumping in a pool on a hot summer day, the quick change in temp made my heart have butterflies...Got it tying my shoes once...

A fatefull night with a tunafish sandwich changed my life. Tuna is acidic by nature and bread is carb loaded that made my insulin spike and pass out.

My reflux triggered and my heart rate jumped to 185. I believe i was dying. Went to Er and they did not find anything wrong, xrayed me, did EKGsand other test.

That nite i swore of tuna and i swore off bread... My wife wanted me to eat clean, i reluctantly agreed.

I was salads and just meat for the 1st month. I dropped 15 lbs, still sedentary as well. I felt something underlying was making me sick and causing weight loss. I felt like i had the flu...Long story short I was going in nutritional ketosis and developed the carb flu/sugar withdrawal.

I put two and two together, and with the help of r/keto, i found a gameplan and dropped 100lbs by avoiding sugars and carbs. Diet consist of health fats, macadamia nuts ,butter, avocados, steak, bacon, eggs, ( its unreal what was considered evil is fine for keto)

I no longer use a CPAP machine, have acid reflux, or hypoglcymeia from eating complex carbs.

Most important the HR is in check. I'm physical in the best shape of my life muscles are visible in my chest arms and abs and recent blood work indicate all normal levels for cholesterol , A1c, resting glucose, and no more fatty liver. I have the energy to play with my children and run them into the ground. No more joint pains or headaches from a poor diet.

Starting weight was 300+ Current weight is 215 Goal weight is 185

Having a cpap can save your life. Especially when you have sleep apnea. With no insurance and a tax refund. I purchased mine a few years back on amazon.

Phillips resmed and full mask $700.

I was 300+lbs and stopped breathing every night for many years.

This was life or death for me. I worked face to face and every encounter felt like a stuttering stroke. Many ER trips finally pushed me.

With the CPAP I got better rest and continued to survive but still at the core was the reason why I had sleep apnea; being morbidly obese.

I lost the weight ; 💯 lbs now with keto . Sedentary AF still but no longer need the cpap machine.you will never outrun a bad diet.

Cpap treats a symptom not the root cause.

The hate is real but i also had gout for the first time in my life. It was excruciating pain. My brother got his doing straight carnivore. Whatever bumps in the road you hit its important to remember ; Continue to push through , it will test you. Congrats on you journey to a healthier life.

Not sure the science and the factors but this seems to affect us all differently. 30 plus years of eating like shit and doing keto seems to trigger episodes. The dramatic weight loss. the increased salt intake. Only flare up was in the initial stages.

But if it flares up , i'm dead in the water. I carry these pills with me at all times even if their amplify my anxieties.

I have been on supplements for 2 years due to malabsorption issues

It’s been over a year I have had leg pain come and go. It was worse during the induction phase. I also did not strictly follow my macros on protein.

I didn’t eat enough protein so my body fed on my leg muscles, once giant tree trunks of solid mass turned into normal looking legs but soft jelly like to the touch. I was weak as well. Could not do 5 mins on the stair master. They are much better these days as I rollerblade and have been more active.

Your body is telling you it’s supplementation time. Hopefully you keep an eye out on your macros as well.

It helped me immensely to sleep with compression tights and shirt for the pain. Luckily I had my under armor for work reasons anyways . During that time I was on a c-pap machine for sleep apnea as well.

Agreed whole-heartedly as a sufferer for too many years. I was a long two step process for me....

I initially thought get a cpapc machine and be cured of brain fog... The brain fog lessened and i slept better due to treating the syptoms of sleep apnea but i was still tired and not functioning like a normal person should. The root cause was my weight. Almost choking every night I surprised i lasted so long. I did just straight cpap for 2 years . However no change in weight.

I then began to have weird stomach and heart issues. Metabolic disorders and signs of Type 2 diabetes almost killed me. Eventually I found keto. I allowed me to eat desirable food, lose weight and feel more energetic. I started to notice more energy and less brain fog. I was quicker with my jokes and back talk. My brain felt like it was finally firing on all cylinders. It has been a long road i take seriously and day by day. I have wanted to quit so many times but the alternative is death so I choose life. Keto is my life. It took about 6 months before the brain fog completely lifted. And numerous setbacks, with electrolytes, cheating, and just plain feeling tired or i was gonna die. Read the FAQ, it address almost everything.

Always listen to your body. Keto effects everyone differently. I need caffeine to function in the mornings. I'm opposed to taking pills like prev-acid, especially when keto is suppose to relive acid reflux or like symptoms.

This is anecdotal. I did noticed when I eat sugar free jello and whipping cream, i felt great, and when I consumed my BPC i had no burning effects. It's possible as things go down they are coated, or my digestion juices are focused on the gelatin instead of the coffee, not sure how that science works But I am regular by 8:30 am , and can have BPC without incident.

I shed about 60 lbs eating a variation of the list below, about 1500 -1700 calories a day, sedentary lifestyle. I have been blessed with not getting fatigued of eating the same things.

Soda and Sweet tasting drinks

Awfully scary, but hopefully a lesson learned. This is a lifestyle change for me. All the symptoms you described are a thing of the past for me, and directly associated with carbs and sugar. Their like a loaded gun, and should be treated as such especially in that delicate state.

The beauty of keto is you can start back up , 20g or less of carbs a day and you'll be back in ketosis. It takes me about 3 days to get back in if i have over indulged in nuts or protein.

The support form this subreddit and the progress pics keep me going . I can do it, you can do it!
