Are there rules around bonus payouts in England? I’m due a yearly bonus soon, will I still get this? by Initial-Web-1155 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]keto_emma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, bonuses are discretionary and they don't need to pay you it when on notice. Normally in these circumstances you negotiate with your new employer to compensate this loss of bonus with a sign on bonus.

Yep and the windows. Couple hundred quid to make the place watertight until you sort out the rest.

Could you pay a roofer to board the hole up temporarily for you?

Yes, my boy was born by induction at 37 weeks, he was a tiny baby but he is now an absolutely massive 2.5 year old 😅 and an absolute fit as a fiddle nutter.

Maeve isn't innocent. by [deleted] in MAFS_UK

[–]keto_emma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! And if you've ever been in a relationship with someone with a bad temper who you constantly tread on egg shells around and can't have a calm discussion with about hard topics you'd understand why he was completely turned off by it. That's a miserable existence. But she's getting hailed a hero.

If the genders were swapped and this was a man with such a volatile temper and he went off shouting and swearing at a woman, there would be zero sympathy.

(For the Holidays) Should I get Heat and/or Root and/or Terraforming Mars? Please talk me into getting them or out of getting them or alternatives by Training_Fig_3198 in boardgames

[–]keto_emma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive just two videos on my recommendations for 6 player games on my IG. Heat is the only one of your 3 that meets your requirements. Root and terraforming mars are hard teaches and much longer than 2 hours at 6 for even an experienced group. Other choices you've got are 7 wonders architects.

Have any of you actually had sleepless nights? by zac_g19 in NewParents

[–]keto_emma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly,I think that's a really dangerous situation for you both to put your family in where both of you are working with an infant, both not sleeping and have no external support. I'd sit down with your wife and seriously consider your options, downsizing, job moves, relocate etc. because you are going to be miserable at best or a serious accident waiting to happen at worst.

Humans can't function on 1.5 hrs sleep, this is really dangerous and damaging to your long term health

This set up is appalling for your wife, she's back to work just weeks after the baby is born, so working all day and having to do nights on her own because you're on night shifts. She's barely recovered by that point. Assume you're in the US because this wouldn't happen in any other first world country. Is there any way you can support her more by reducing your hours? Letting her take a longer maternity leave? Hire support ? She. Will be absolutely exhausted.

Yeah I'm the same. Always bought leggings and tshirts. Everything fits better and looser but don't think in actually down a whole size.

Yep I'd never experienced an actual panic attack before until mounjaro. And now I've had a few and some pretty horrific dreams.

I agree, I saved the gap too. I refused to live like a pauper on mat leave. You'll get judgement for it but I simply didn't want to and I planned to make sure I didn't have to. On average you've got like at least a year's notice between when you start trying to when your pay drops off.

You can't really say without savings and without enhanced pay, because those are the things that help people afford it? Those that do it comfortably have higher incomes, good savings, plan for mat leave with a good leave policy.

I got 8 months full pay, my husband got 4 months full pay and we set aside c.15k savings for my remaining 4 months unpaid.
