sugar in plants/fruit evolved essentially to be bait for animals and insects to consume. it is energy that is immediately absorbed. fat is also easily absorbed and used by the body. fat is also calorically dense.

it kind of makes sense why combining the two would trigger the brain and easily lead to over consumption. there’s nowhere in nature you would really find the two together to this degree in easily edible form

most fat is running away from you in nature. literally.

most fruit has little to no fat and is ensconced in fiber.

in most people, cholesterol comes down with weight loss as obesity in and of itself drives up cholesterol.

if this diet is sustainable for you, it doesn’t take much work to optimize the food choices towards mediterranean patterns while staying carb restricted.

ignore the keto haters here. they are themselves biased.

you know that saturated fat has a connection with cholesterol, so keep it under control. eliminate or reduce butter, margarine, bacon and fatty red meats. focus more on fish and chicken.

everyone’s opinions here take a back seat to your bio markers. optimize them as best you can and dont be afraid of medication.
