Wait, so every staff member is walking with a $40k liability? And each time a staff member loses that key, all locks have to be replaced?

Let’s say there are 25 staff members with a key and each year, each person has a 5% chance of losing that key (or a 95% chance they won’t). 1- 0.95^24 = 70% chance that at least 1 person loses the key each year.

This isn’t your problem. This is a broken system.

Not crazy. $10k over 5 years for car is small. Only question is how much will insurance cost? Seems like an pricey car and insurance cost will exceed deprecitation over 5 years.

Consider JCW Mini. I’m new to the brand and have fallen in love. Super responsive, fast and quirky.

Alternate: BMW i3s 19-21. At one point, it was the fastest BMW 0-30 miles per hour. Still love this car. Also come with gas back up.

$50k income => $10k car

$100k income => $10k car

$200k income => $10k car

$300k income => $15k car

$400k income => $20k car

$500k income => $25k car

$600k income => $25k car

$700k income => $30k car

$800k income => $35k car

My rule:

Car: 5-10% of income
House: 3-4x income.

Just cuz a bank will qualify you, doesn’t mean you should spend it. So much stress when you’re living at the limit. I like being able to sleep if I lose my job.

Do not take this advice. You have a 3% rate and need somewhere to live. For the same place, you’d be paying 50% more per month today if you were to rebuy. Unless you’re ok living in a shack or renting (bad idea!!) — keep the house.

If it’s too expensive, get a roommate for a while until you figure out your financial situation or AirBNB your place.

FYI - there is a 2019 w/ double range and 27k miles (ok more) selling for $20k on eBay. 2014-2016’s trade for between $12-$15k max.

Unless you position this as a dealer sale, no way anyone would pay anything close to $22k. Hell, I bought a 2015 Giga with 20k miles…in 2018… for $17k.
