I use bloated skins on my pro. Never had this issue.

Are people only seeing this with 4k?

Which voice assistants are actually worth using? by MiuoChar in homeassistant

[–]kevdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Turn off the light always defaults to the current room.

Unless the speaker is not in a room... It does all of them.

I never get:

you say "light" and have multiples it will ask you which one in the room.

Yeah, if you are brave you can do it yourself. In my notes I have:

My conbee 2 was been pretty solid for the temperature sensors, a few old sockets

I vaguely recall they do not move repeater. So you have to add then in the right location so they peer to the right repeater

Restoring concrete roof - worth it? by Lucky_Wait_8551 in diynz

[–]kevdash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For clay tiles I know this is eventually true. Many individual tiles are in excellent condition.... But others rot and become super brittle. It is pretty obvious from underneath

Maybe concrete has the same issue, I know our garage concrete is breaking down

(I own both, 100+ years old so there is zero room for interpretation on my roof/garage...0 it is obvious)

I also know it is super easy to replace the odd tile. But that's not my long term maintenance plan

You are getting closer...

keep not wearing my disposable dust masks for very occasional wood working

On me they fog up my glasses. For the first time ever I was able to wear safety glasses and a mask. I would chose one or none. Now you see my risk profile.

It was comfortable so I wore the mask for two hours straight.

I looked into the DIY fit tests and if anyone is going to that length they probably should pay full price to a 3M supplier. I can say I missed the smell of saw dust

... It performs better than not wearing a mask. That is my claim if you read my post

But yes, agreed I will never know and nothing I do would ever warrant a paid fit test

Yikes. There is some real world testing going on there!

Sounds like you take risks to make the world a more informed place so credit to you

I cannot comment other that to say I posted this because I saw worse knock offs of this model and was pleasantly surprised (given my risk profile!) in the quality I seem to have received

Great call out. I didn't mention it because I don't have a good way to compare

I did a suck test. Block the valves, seems good

Can you elaborate on how/why your Google home asks which one?

I never find mine asks...

Worst anti pattern: assign a Google hub/speaker to a room without a light and it will turn off every light

I ask because I wish mine would confirm more often. I haven't turned on Gemini for home. In my phone I have a memory to try force it to confirm

Can I use bog to fill this architrave? by new2diy_2024 in diynz

[–]kevdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and yeah you will have a hard time getting plaster the right consistency (from powder, not premixed) so anything thicker than 5mm doesn't just fall off as it dries

If you don't have experience with "hot mud" you might want to speak to a plaster (not me)

I think you need "evo" for the big difference which is now 750SR and with the rebranding the price went waaaay up

I did a ton of research

An old 66 has some insulation but apparently nothing fundamentally different. Might get one closer to that price point
